decided to sell/brake the SI after over a year of owning. performed brilliantly over that time i had it. it needs some attention to the body work and its nearly mot time (it will pass) but i only intended to use it as a run around and dont want to spend money on it anymore.

now im in the position to by a new car and i had pretty much decided on a MK5 ZS until i came across a sport KA SE, ive always had a soft spot for the little ford. trouble is that now i cant decide. very little between the 2 cars, cost, millage, condition etc. id be chuffed to own either, i know the pro's and cons for both and driven both.

asked my brother who knows alot more about fords then i do and is also a huge MK5 fan and owns a MK5 himself, he said get the KA. so asked the girlfriend and she said she likes them both, so im still non the wiser.

so im asking for everybody their opinion, to help make my mind up

I like both, though i do think the zetec s would be better for a man :look:

Have you taken a drive in both? as at the end of the day when your driving it you want to be comfy and enjoy it

I would definitely say the zetec s. I've got a blue one myself and they are brilliant cars, pull and handle really nicely! I just really don't like the ford KA and the sport KA's don't have the same impact as the zs when out and about imo. Stick to the fez

Sportka. i'd imagine it'd handle the same, if not better being lighter, and being an 8v engine it'll be more fun IMO.

No brainer, ZS easily, more power & handles better than the KA too in my opinion.

I'd only get a Ka if it had them wider arches and some silly wide cossie wheels on, as that is just porn.

So ZS is my vote

(not that I'm saying the sportka will be crap, Ive never drove a sportka one)

Sportka everytime. they are so much fun to drive!
handles like a blooming go-kart! also according to the book figures slightly faster than z-s to 60 although this is due to the low ratio g/box which is perfect for the engine.
Plus being an SE it'll have leather interior which feels really good
another plus point, how many z-s's do you see compared to sportka's?! z-s is getting to be a bit of a 'chav' option IMO.
oh, the Mrs's has one hence why i know so much about them. if it had a little bit more power i'd consider one as my next car.

vote seems divided. personally i'd go for a drive in both. They no doubt share the same or similiar chassis so wil probably handle almost the same to a degree.

It's a shame they never made 1.7 mk5 ZS' as standard. Poor move back in the day Ford, you could of been onto a MASSIVE winnah!
