hey just wondering whay speeds people were gettin out there 1.6si's..just wanted to know if mine was quick or just average lol
ive had just over 135mph in mine so basically done the clocks :thumbsup:

no engine mods jus exhaust and sum uprated plugs and leads

Without wanting to put a dampner on things, your speedo will be way out over 110mph really, the 135 you read will be over estimated by your clocks. If you get it veryfied by a satnav or some similar timing device you'll have a much better idea of your top speed. Speedo's overread normally anyway.

And of course, FSi does not condone these kind of speeds, unless performed on a private race track :thumbsup:

Thought the standard si gearbox topped out at 125... well my old 1.6 was thrashing its nackers off :lol:

My RS1800 with RS box did past the clocks.. and the diesel box I don't know.. I know the diesel box does 125 at just over 5500 revs in 4th :lol:

On my private road of course.

on the straightest of straight roads, with no head wind you might just scrape 125 leptons out of the 1.6. but lets be honest when do you need that kind of speed
i can't remember what i got out of my 1.6 that was more than 3 years ago now

to be honest, i dont really care what top speed i can do

most ive taken it up to was bout 120 chasing a scooby a few years back

now i just enjoy saving my petrol and keeping a clean licence

lol i aint that fussed bout top end either but i was just curious to know

and its all bout the bottom end anyways but i just wanted to know wot was ppls cars doin
and mines quite gud on petrol to save ive got a heavy right foot :doh:

i never found out what the top speed of my 2i was as i dont realy car, the day o got it i touched 120 then slowed right down top speed is pointles, if your prepered to do 100mhp you will overtake justabout everything on the motorway im my experiance most people sit at 80mph on the motorway.

speeds a killer, and not something you should do in a small car like a fiesta, hence i just swaped mine for a sierra 4x4, you hit something at speed in a small car some poor sod is going to have to mope whats left of you off the road.

I think DTR only did 127mph and thats with alot of Engine Work....

But it does get to normal speeds quite quickly....

as long as i'm you're quick between 20 to 70 i'm happy. sadly in the current car im only quick until about 45. and picking up from above 50 is shocking! :lol:

it's a 1.4 n/a though so what should i expect really. :hsugh:

Mine tops out at about 120mph and reading some of the posts in this thread about saving petrol. F**K that lol fuel consumption is last on my list.

1.6 was 121 recoreded on the satnav(bout 130 on the clocks lol)
2.0 with the 1.6 box i took it to 124 on the satnav and that was up to 6000revs so i wouildnt do that if you want to keep a healthy engine.
private track obviously 8-)

but yeah i dont like top end speed, as said speeds a killer and its not cleaver imo but everyone will try the top end of there sar at one point in its ownership, acceleration all the way

but not with fuel prices the way they are atm, i drive like an old lady changeing gear at 2k revs :lol:

I've seen 150 on the clocks :lolz:

Sat Nav has said 142 before. Book is 139 so it's all about right.

Should I post the GTi pic doing 137 :lolz:

Ry might remember it, hilarious.

My Si never managed anything more than 118 on the clocks so I dare say no Si could see anything more than 125 with a 200mph tail wind and broken speedo :lol:
