Comfort:The Standard seats where very comfortable, with a fair amount of support. Noise wise, in standard trim it was plesent, a nice rasp, but when stripped and with the Pugsport on long trips it could get annoying. The standard Speakers in it where actually very good, although it only came with front speakers the sound was good.
Reliability & Running Costs:I only had 2 problems with mine in the 18 months i activily used it, one was thermostat, which was a £10 fix and the other was the battery went, but these could go at any time and on any car. The car was driven hard daily and it stood up well to it never letting me down. But as with any car, providing its serviced regulary and looked after it will do you well.
To work on it was a doddle, a headgasket swap could be done in 30mins, i found it a very easier car to work on.
Its in insurance Group 11, so its fairly resonable, i had some good quotes with mine.
MPG, depended how it was drove, if you just tootled around you will get 32+mpg, but as the power is at the top of the Rev range when driving hard, it would be around 28mpg, i found it ran better on 95ron to super unleaded 97ron.
Safety & Security Crash safety, alarm and imob security views etcIt comes with a Chipped key/immoboliser and thats it, which is ok i suppose but i had a clifford CAT 1 fitted to mine. Crash tests, im sure the 106 had a Crap NCAP rating, but i've seen a few been rolled that stood up quite well, but at the end of the day its on a small tin can, so crashing wouldn't be advised, especially as drivers airbag was a rare option.
Good Points: * When stripped and with Breathing mods there quick cars, even with 114bhp mine was showing up alot bigger more powerful cars
* Easy to work on
* Parts are easy to get hold of as its part of the PSA so Saxo parts also work.
* Only 500 imported to the uk so quite rare
* Respected car, most car lovers now of the Rallye models
* Respond well to basic Breathing mods
* Out of the Box, they handle fantasic
* Plenty of aftermarket bits available
Bad Points:* Because only 500 where imported they tend to cost more
* You have to push them hard to get full beans
* You sometimes have to ask for a bit for a Saxo VTR so you feel all Dirty
* The Rallye Register, its full of Tools and if you do something they don't like they shun you out
SummaryGreat cars, I can't fault them, i Genuinely loved every min of driving it.
