not "hot hatches" but if youre after something quick that looks smart??

Any of the "chavvy" cars are the ones that look half decent and are very good bang for buck, thats why people buy them

Thing is though, evo's have to be serviced regularly? or is this only on new ones, and service isn't cheap, especially considering the price of fuel as it goes through it like no tomorrow

Scooby for me btw is Â£1800 FC for a year

God knows what an evo is :frown:

FRS is Â£820 a year FC :thumbsup:

and because its a Ford i can get it easier

Have to be honest the FST sold itself to me when i took it out and the Sound + Torque = Sale

Looked up an elise dont know whether id like it or not though

Honestly, if I could afford to buy a Focus ST, then insurance, tax and MPG would be the last thing I'd worry about. A couple of grand difference in yearly costs wouldn't bother me at all.

Be careful, some S2000's are known to use oil, (most vtecs do) and people assume its ok as its a honda, and get a dry sump :rolleyes:

My Jap loving friend :hsugh:

was sent to investigate a rattly S2K, and it needed a bottom end from oil starvation 8-)

Still, nice car, as Scotty said, proper drivers car and with a decent exhaust on it, an exhaust note to :drool:

My workmate has an S2000. Gorgeous car. But it's an older one without the traction control, and it's far from solid in the wet. He's already lost it on a roundabout and had to get it all repaired, and that was cruising. Granted, he may well have hit a patch of diesel or something, but it's still very twitchy for some reason. It's also quite flat until you hit vtec I found, but still pretty quick. I love them! If I could, I'd get one for them lovely summers we get

its like teenagers that go out and buy a new corsa or saxo for about 9k because insurance on something decent would be too much.

i dont understand it, just spend alittle less on the car, and alittle more on insurance if you want a quick car.

why buy new ?

have to agree with mole without causing trouble or sticking my oar in :halo:

There is a certain "fords are shit get something else (namely french or jap)" vibe at times.... but mostly its healthy debate 8-)

Personally, although i currently have a ford, and owned many more, none have really let me down, except the cabbys idea of frosting up inside and outside was good :lol:

At the end of the day, its all down to how a car make you feel, look at robs s1 rst, hes spent nearly Â£6k on it (Â£2.3k on a engine, loom, rebuild etc) when admittedly, he could have got a saph cossie for that money, but he loves the S1, the presence it has on the road due to its now relative rarity, and as stated in fast ford, "has the ability to make even a trip to the shops a memorable experience"

I have been out in plenty of jap cars and french cars, and with healthy banter (jap scrap, ford scrap, french tin etc :lol:

) my mates appreciate my car and vice versa. Some of you may think my xr3i is a steaming pile :hsugh:

but most people comment on the condition, and how although it is not 100% standard, is not a ragged rst rep or a illusion bodykitted barry boy car, heck even the RSOC like my car :lol:

I dont want to alienate myself from people, and i love this forum, use it everyday, and donate 8-)

but i felt like getting my 2ps worth in
