i've been looking at a couple of bolt-on kits available from burton power, mainly the omex throttle body kit and the alpha weber carburettor kit. both cost around the same and apparently give similar gains in horsepower. basically i'm just wondering what the major differences are (obviously its different technology etc, but what will i notice?) and what people think is best. opinions please.....

if its the same price its got to be throttle bodies and injection, im looking at the cheaper option of motorbike carbs and Megajolt on my track 2litre hope to get fueling and ignition sorted for less than £300 :). other thought is it will also depend on what year car you are looking at, as if its on road and post 1992 and requires a CAT for the MoT, throttle bodies is the only way to go as a CAT wont last long with inacurate fueling from carbs.
Will let you know how the bike carbs go, just making the manifold and re-spacing the carbs at mo.

sounds good. i'm not too bothered about the cat situation, i dont have one, apart from one day a year anyway! prob gonna look down the throttle body line then.

mangement for throttle bodies ent cheap though unless you plan to MS it though mate, main advantage over carbs is that they wont require balancing and will be a tiny bit better on fuel than carbs. but even for that one day a year test carbs would fail you for emissions id imagine.
