Hi guys,

Have gone and bought myself a Series 2 2.0 Zetec-E engine from a Mondeo to rebuild and then fit into a 1.6 Si.

The question I have is regarding the ECU. The one supplied with the engine is a TELL Code, which relates to a 95 onwards 2.0 16v Mondeo which woul dbe about right for the engine.
Now looking on all the forums they all state that a DESK, DEWY or DEEP ECU are needed for the Fiesta conversion.

My question is, will the TELL work? And if not why not?
I'm not overly fussed if it doesn't work as I'll just hunt down a DEEP ECU and use that, but I would like to know why it wouldn't work!

um, possibly somthing due to the PATS system,

A) you would have to change the red part on your key to the one involved with the ECU

B) im not sure how the wiring would work with PATS.

just get the DEEP/DESK/DEWY one.

DESK DEWY or DEEP all work on the fiesta si wiring loom which has internal edis and the pats system.

I think if you had the mk3 loom with external edis module then you can run any of the other ecu's.. well thats what I found on the RS1800 ecu's :)

So best to keep it simple and do the tried and tested way of doing it :) or megasquirt with a readily available 2.0ltr basemap which gives more powah :thumbsup:
