had a crash the other week and my car which i had put so much work into is now sat on the drive not being able to be driven.basicall ive got a dark aubergine 1.6 si with zetec s back bumper smoothe boot xr2i skirts and arches and a badboy bonnet on bonnet raisers with white mondeo wheels the car was just looking good all that was needed was the front bumper i wanted and lowering then spraying.howerever now ive had a crash ive smashed my radiator ,bonnet, and slam pannel .dont know waht to do wether to get another fez maybe not even an si but to transfer all of the things onto that not sure what t o do .the garage has quoted me 300 to fix but the car has done 103,000 so i dont know wether id be throwing money into a bottomless pit and would be better of buying a new fez with less miles on the clock .

any ideas would be help chears .

Buy a new car. I wouldn't bother to repair it personally. £300 is pretty cheap.

£50 for rad.
£100 for new front panel
£xxx cost for replacement bonnet
£paint
£labour

I'd sell the parts off your old one or transfer them to a new one. But things like your bumper and tailgate wouldn't match. Depends if you wanna take this as a sign to move on or just swap to a new Si.

I would say it depends on whether u are planning on keeping the 1.6 engine in, if you are then id get another car with lower milage, if you were planning on changing to a 2.0 then id keep it and get it fixed, better the devil you know sometimes with older fords! As if you brought another car you could end up with more problems.

:)

personaly id get another car and transfer the bits over you wanted then sell the rest BUT it depends on how you feel about that particular car.
my step son (leeny) is in a similar position haveing just had an accident himself, he was worried he would loose the car so win or loose he isnt claiming for his car so he can keep it, he is determind to fix it himself, but then again it was a 1 owner from new low millage near minter.
only you can decide what to do.
i know how i feel about my car and i would go all out to fix her if anything ever happend to her, even if it cost more than she was worth lol

yeah i love the car to bits but this car isnt a minter by far as its high mileage and 5 owners so i could od alot better just more centimental value more than anything .i want to finish a fiesta and get it done because ive always wanted one and i think im desting to finish one lol .tbh i was tht angry tht i had crashed my car tht i was gonna buy a quicksilver but then havin read an old mag which cover car was a mk3 fez made me realise i stil wanted another fez to mod .so im just left in the position where im left with either fixing mine which has many problems or buying another one .

If the rest of the bodywork is pretty good.. eg. no rust. no rotton floors etc etc

then fix it.

i'd fix it. £300 is cheeper the buying another car, u have already put work into the car and its almost the way u want it. gives u the excuse to do something with the frond end. and like other people have said u have the sentimental value. if i were in ur shoes id fix mine and its far from perfect.

I'd fix it if i woz you! As said, £300 is a really good price for putting it right and you probably couldn't get another fez worth having for that price anyway!

Also, you can't get rid coz of its sentimental value! 8-)
