Was chatting to some guy about my 2.0 and he was saying how theirs this thing in my engine bay that helps get rid of vapour that builds up and puts it into my manifold or something? and he said i didn't need it and that most people take it off to neaten up their engine bay.
i know this is the worst description in the world but i'm hoping someone out there will know what i'm on about. :?
i want to get rid of it but dont know how or what the consequences might be! or even just what its called....

if its what i think it is, you cant even see it as i think its in the inner wing so makes no difference if you take it out or not as you cant see it :lol:

but as for what effect it has on your engine etc i dont really know

you sure he doesn't mean the EGR system?

i really dont know what its called!! i think it has something to do with that tank? in the wing. but also a connector and some wiring/tubing next to the brake master cylinder. apparently its quite a common mod?!?

the tubing next the master cylinder is the EGR piping ;)

as onslack said, thats the egr pipeing, gold on colour? most people remove it when doing the 2.0 conversion as when onslack showed me when i did mine its a hell of alot easyer to get to your cps sensor if it brakes without the egr there :lol: but no one has actually proven it makes any diff to the engines power being removed..... well from what i no :)

The box in the inner wing isnt recomended to be removed as its something for the emissions if i remember correctly.....may be wrong tho.

there are 2 pipes on the EGR solinoid/canister near the mater cylinder, the one from the EGR box thing on the exhaust manifold can be disconnected, but the pipe the goes from the solinoid/canister near the mater cylinder to the inlet needs to be left on, iirc i read on FT that is the pipe to the inlet is removed fuel comsumption suffers, but i may be wrong

yeah jamie i heard the same thing about that thing in the inner wing being emmissions related
