cheers daniel yeah well i dont think there are very many 1.6s on the forum anymore lol

iv changed the injectors over and the iscv and started her up today and she isnt popping as bad as she was lastnite, just very minor but as soon as you take to over 1k revs its perfect, revs up fine no hesitation attal, and is ideling at 800 revs ;) took it for a drive and drives like a dream! got all its power and yes i think its grate compared to the 1.6 :devil: cant seem to grip in 1ist tho :look: lol so im gunna stick ford plugs and leads on it instead of the ones i got from halfords which i cant remember what make they are....lol

really happy its near on working as she should jamie :D

i wonder what it was! as we unplugged the iscv and it made it worse! so wonder if the injectors the ones causing the issues!

you getting much torque steer when you floor it? :devil:

ps. i was told zetec engines dont like any other plugs or leads other than ford stuff, they are very fussy, like most women! :rolleyes: :halo:

I have been advisedon ford bits for the next service for the xr3i, but zetecs are even more fussy! :xmasghey: :doh: :look:

Glad its working though, maybe ford should have made it a 2.0 from the start seeing as there are hardly any left :squint: :lol:

cheers terry yeah i have heard about them not likeing other stuff apart from the ford bits lol but yeah its fast! and yeah there is torque steer :lol:

woods:its only popping a tiny bit at idal, when it gets over 800 revs its fine, when you rev it theres no popping and no hesitation just sounds perfect apart from at idal....

meilack: yeah ford fpark should work better, im also thinking that mayb halfords gave me the wrong 1s as i got them orderd as they had none in stock....

got new plugs and leads now ;)

thanks for all the comments, was very tireing doing it all but its worth it! :)

just been out to check everything and fit the new plugs and noticed fuel sitting ontop of cylinder 2, soaked it all up by pushing a rag into the spark plug hole and then fitted the plugs and lead and started her up and there was white smoke smelling of fuel comming out the exhaust. took the plugs out again and the piston was coverd in fuel again so i took the injector rail off and number 2 injector was coverd in fuel so im guessing that the injector is bust, terrys got a spare and im gunna try that. did a compression test on it after all the fuel had evaporated off the piston and disonected the fuel pipes and the compression was between 177-180 between 1,2,3,4, couldnt realy get a real accurate reading as its an analog tester but to me that seems the compression is fine :)

so hopefully changeing the injector will solve this! 8-)

EDIT: them readings are in psi for the compression lol

taken the 2nd injector out and the seal is compleatly bust at the bottom of it so it was obviosly just pouting though the rail past the injector and into the cylinder!!!
