Right this has baffled me, my 2ltr fez runs so smooth warm or hot with no problems at all, however she performs slightly better when the engine is cold i have no idea why tho...ive tried loads.

no problems really when you think about it but im getting more performance when cold and that's bad i don't want to put excessive wear on my engine.

cold air is denser, ecu compensates by adding more fuel.

more fuel and air = bigger bang and better combustion = more power

you tried replacing the temp sensor on top of your thermostat?

I had the same issue. Put a thermostat in that opens at a cooler temp. Should help a bit.

(btw i dont know what thermostat too use lol)

Drive around carefully until the engine is toasty....shouldn't be flooring it from cold.

If your however saying that your temp gauge is playing silly buggers, then yes, get your stat replaced

i only say the temp sensor as mine run like a sack of shit, but that combined with my timing being out it was even worse!

i replaced mine and it made it a bit better

let us know how you get on

What i mean is if you put a thermostat in that opens earlia the engine will stay a bit cooler, and if it seems to run better when its cool then
