So how do you rate your local? Just popped down to mine for a new speedo cable. Geoff is a god down there My dad swears blind that he knows the fini codes to all the most random parts you can imagine.

The cable is ?18inc. VAT but he suggested that I investigate further and got out the part that is more likely to be the cause of the problem. The wheel that drives the cable round is made of plastic (who thought that up?) so it wears after so many miles, he even said they sell shed loads of them. Tomorrow will be spent getting jiggy with my gearbox then

But yeah, he could've sold me the cable and I wouldn't have been any the wiser until it didn't work. Fine chaps down at my Ford dealers in Burton

How do you rate yours?

I'd give them 8/10, helpful, useful, stock plenty of parts and the staff are sound. Ian (dude sweet) always goes and ram raids them for parts. I always go down for random stuff.

The Ford parts place in Bedford has pretty poor service.

Whenever I go in there i'm allways served by tis fat bauld (spelling) guy who looks like the doctor from the muppets;



This guy is extremely unhelpful, moody and wouldn't know customer service if it came up to him and slapped his fat bold head of his.

Aside of this, they dont stock many of the parts I want, most have to be ordered in, which take ages. And when they do get my parts, on numerous occasions they've been the wrong part (mostly for escorts!!)

My overall rating; a generous 2/10

Banbury - hartwell ford is awesome.

the guys straight to the point, scarily knows most part numbers..

He's the kind of guy who likes to make a bit of parts bonus though, i.e telling me i needed a new rad to go with the new lower rad hose

I give them a 7, most parts are not stocked for older vehicles (service only aswell), but arrive in 24hours from a bigger dealer which is sound.

i buy random stuff too, the cheap little things which really should be new from ford.

*edit* not to mention the numerous eye boggling gorgeous laydies down there, all seem to do nothing but wear skirts, use the photocopier and play on spider solitaire!!


scott, is that where it takes the speed sensor/signal from? - gearbox?

They don't know what anything is, ask for something and you'll get something else.

Other than that they are really good, always in stock, always on time. Have the most random crap ever on site.

mine in loughborough is damm good if thay havent got the parts in stock it'ull b there in the morning waiting for me but there's only one quality bloke on the service reception mick, he knows his stuff, im not trying to big up the place just coz i work there but most costumers say mick knows his stuff i'd give it a 9 / 10
