how much was that?
how do they get the TU to make 95bhp? (when you see 1.4 saxo's/pugs with 75bhp?)
whats the spec compared to a 1.6 xsi?
how many miles?

i like it. i like phase 1's better than phase 2's. they look meaner. 8-)

the earlier model to mine is 100bhp (no cat) but i think it's purely to do with the cam and map.
whats the spec compared to a 1.6 xsi?
exactly the same except coloured wing mirrors. power wise, 10bhp and some torque. basically nothing, mines just about as fast as fast as a gti - apparently the cam is slightly more wild in the 1.4, though i can't confirm that, it's just hearsay from forums. you know how it is.
how many miles?
104k now and strong as evar.

I did a cambelt in about 30mins on mine! :thumbsup: Piss easy to do, turn to TDC, slap bolt in timing hole on head, walla swap belt! :lol:

The Xsi with no cat is the best one IMO! :) :chill:

A rough one will sell for about £500 quid, whereas clean un-modified ones like mine sell for about a grand. If there's a 16v engine in it they'd tend to go for about 1200/1600 too depending on the rest of that car from what i've seen over the years on the 106 sites..

I'm unsure at the moment, i'll probably step up the car ladder about £500/800 at a time.

So say something like 106 Gti, then Clio 172 P1, then Honda ATR, then Honda ITR etc for example.

Unsure what to get next though if I'm honest. :)

Minor updatage/shameless plug

I've recently changed a rear seat belt as I accidently broke mine... (Long story :red: ) and the heavy underlay has been totally removed as sick isn't the word I'd use for its state - also the interior and roof has been cleaned.

Now the annoying parts!

1. my heater matrix will have to be replaced now it's getting colder and wetter. So I'm awaiting a Nissen's one in the next day or so and fitting that along with my speedo cable, and hopefully that should sort out my heating/condensation problem, and also the fact that when I do say, 50mph, it still flickers between 45mph and 55mph lolz. hopefully it's not the drive pinion thing, as I'll have to get one of them too.

2. My cambelt tensioner bearing is giving up the ghost, so im not driving it at the minute. I've received my cambelt today though, and I already have the tensioner/waterpump/auxillery belt so that's being done tomorrow. fingers crossed it's ok for the small drive.

Once this is all sorted then the mpg machine (currently 45/50 :chill:) is up for sale. :D

I'm undecided if I should remove the powerflex gearbox mount with a standard one though, as the slightly shakey interior on idle may put people off who aren't used to a harder polyurethane mount. :?

so can condensation be removed by using a different heater matrix.....due to the frameless doors on mine there is a common problem with them that they doo get condensation/steamed up when in bad weather?

Well currently when it needs demisting from any weather condition, if i put the the heaters on then it makes it worse, regardless of what hot or cold temp i choose. :hmm: and yes the car is dry inside :lol:

the previous owner said he'd changed the matrix, but put a matrix in from another used 106. I mean Jesus H, it's a 35 quid item! :doh:
