well i got bored today and thought id try something new with the rear lights, well basicly i notices that the line going right down the side of the car below the windows follows onto the lights like so....

so i thought what would it look like if i sprayed the top parts of the lights body colourd so it looks like that line blends into the light more and heres the outcome

there not laqured as i didnt have any laqure left in the garage, just need to let them dry properly over a couple of days so that i can give them a good polish up, but i like it, very simple but nice mod for a cleaner look 8-)

cheers for the comments everyone, yeah the paint should be shiny even if its not laqured it will just go dull very quickly if left bare due to all the road grime lol

i do random things when im bored and have spare paint laying around :lol:

alec: yes i do like your running lights, dont think they would look right on a fiesta tho lol, alot of audi are getting them now and even afew 911's

hey, been a while since i updated much on the car. finally got around to getting my 2.0 in!

after a very long weekend, started stripping the 1.6 down in the car on thursday evening and then finished stripping it on friday morning then managed to get the engine and gearbox out of the car on friday and move everything else over onto the 2.0 ready for terry, woods and barry to come over and give me a hand getting it back in the car lol, think we eventually got it all in a bolted up by 11ish as the gearbox was proveing to be a right pig to get back in! finally saturday came and terry came along to give me a hand just finishing off all the wireing etc, got it all ready, oil filled, warter filled, ps steering fluid in everything connected and went to fine it up and it wouldnt!!! we checked everything we could as there was no spark but couldnt find anything wrong so i was getting ready to get the brakedown people to come and take it to a garage for me to spend loads on them getting it started! untill sunday when i randomly had a thought in my head about the cps sensor houseing being different on the 1.6 to the 2.0. went and checked and they were, i still had the 2.0 cps houseing on the 2.0 so it wasnt reading the 1.6 flywheel

so half the day sunday i spend takeing the gearbox back out the car to change the sensor house as the 1 bolt to remove it is behine the flywheel arggg. got it all back together and heypresto it runs, but wont idal and is very lumpy so the timeing is to be done on it!!!

big thanks to terry, barry and woods for helping me to get the engine in and to alex for lending the engine crain

in total i think it took about 20 hours to get done not including having to take the gearbox off again to do that sensor!!

(oh year also pretty much the whole time we were doing this conversion it was pouring down with rain and really strong winds!!)

Your a nutter for attempting that gearbox on your own after the trouble it caused the 4 of us :rolleyes:

woods: i no im crazy but i had no other option :lol:

engine crain with chain wrapped around the gearbox ftw

went on with minor issues :lol:

seems to run a little smoother thismorning as i had to move it over on the drive earlea!

terry: lol dont worry theres always something thats missed just happend to be the 1 thing that is a pain to change!

thanks, tbh getting it out and everything wasnt as hard as i expected tbh all went quite smoothly! even tho i got drenched doing most of it till i got the cover up!!

your get used to that clutch eventually

Looks Good, once you run it in a bit and have it smooth and sweet as a nut, how do you find it for power?

thanks mole, yeah they were a great help! even tho the weather was so bad.

i havnt really driven it yet due to the running issues, on drove it about 200 yards to see if the gears were all lined up right and the clutch was working! ill take it for a spin when its running right

thanks matt im glad its in now, just minor things that need sorting on it before i drive it now! i hated doing the gearbox but its all experience

monkeys! arnt we ment to be fairys down south:P you can see how wet we all were even tho we had a cover over the car :lol:

i was supprised with terry, he says hes not good with a spanner but he was doing alot
