Hey folks, i'm new on here, bought my Si about 4 weeks ago, needs some work doing tho so i need some advice.

i know the common areas for rust on Fiesta's is around the filler cap and the arches-mine is no different! but my arches seem to be in really bad nick, also looks like someone's just primered it and sprayed it over in ash black (colour of car) so the rust is still underneath, now visible and feels rock hard. does anyone know the best solution to clean them up or is it best to just replace the whole lot-any ideas on prices?

my clutch cable has been changed by a breakdown service (before i bought the car) and i was told that a temporary cable had been fitted. now there is no travel, the clutch just feels like a switch. has the right cable been fitted or should it be doing it?!

any ideas and thoughts would be welcome!

best to replace the rest area's with new panels as it will only come back if its not done properly

if its a temp cable i'd get a new one from halfords or ford and get it fitted, see if that helps

archs , get some repair panles from ford or some one and take it to a body shop!

clutch cable , agen get a prober ford one , think they cost £15 ! not a big prob to fit eather

get some picks of your car up!

them arches sound as though they are probabaly not worth DIY'ing.
unless your on a limited budget i'd get new panels on. It wouldn't cost too much either...
onslack is spot on about clutch cable, wouldn't run around on it too long :|

As said get a Ford Clutch cable, they last longer than pattern parts! :)

yeah that's what i'm hoping to do, she does have a few dents but will easily come out with a bit of TLC-only thing is apparently she's supposed to come with alloys?! is this true?

welcome to the site, car looks tidy enough, its a good base. have a look round the scrappers' if your on a limited budget for the panels, but really genuine ford stuff is your best bet. :FSI:
