ad i see what you mean, although subaru's latest effort is way off the mark for me, and i am not to keen on the evo x styling.

Isn't a £50k RS4 a bit out of the question here as this car will be £25k?

I know its all down to opinion, but surely against the focus's current rivals the RS will be more of a match?

And would you rather they had taken a completely new engine rather then tinker with the duratec? (new cams, inlet and exhaust manifolds etc)

have to say it looks veryyy nice. The focus ST went down fairly well, becoming iconic with the colour and think this will too if they keep the colour.
my brother drove both the Fiesta ST and Focus ST and said he was blown away by the focus ST...
i think it'll be a good car, admittedly the RS isn't competitive to certain other makes 'performance' models, but i think it'll be good within its class.
shame about not being 4WD though.

The new RS has got rid of the old standard macpherson strut type set up and designed what they call revoknuckle

the idea is that it improves the kingpin angle and offset whilst under any sort of load. It allows the strut to stay in situ so geometry stays the same when steering direction is changed.

rollerbearing catridges support it better.

the distance between the kingpin axis and the wheel centre is smaller so less torque steer

Along with the quafe ATB it should be one of the best behaved and postive front wheel drive production cars on the market. under acceleration, tramlines etc


thats partly my take on it so far, and from what ive read

Ford Could have built a brilliant Car if they'd put the effort in and done it 4wd, think like other makes there just getting lazy or having to concentrate alot of time (and that = money) into emissons and Efficency! :sigh: :doh:

Well 4wd drive costs money, by keeping it 2wd at the front theyre saving on the cost of getting drive set up to all 4 :rolleyes:

Would still have it though, it looks awesome :devil:
