At Fiesta in the park i found a mk2 fiesta running throttle bodies on standard management and a MAF sensor, it did this by using an almost plenum chamber over the top of the bodies instead of filters, into this was obviously ran intake pipe with a MAF on the end...was very ingenious to be honest. Does anyone know which car im on about and does anyone have any photos of this engine...i cant remember the colour of the car but it wasn't that far from the F-SI stand

I think its an area not many people have looked into when doing TB's so gona look into it see if i can find pro's and con's

Looks clever tho...as long as it wont cost much to fabricate plenum and i have got the internal area correct for equal airflow to all bodies then it should work really well and possible save a good amount...plus its fairly unique & original

O yea can you guess what im currently making for my fez then

that sounds very interesting would be great to see it too as im looking to convert to throttle bodies or motorbike carbs, with megasquirt or megajolt this winter.

Don't see why its not possible, but it would need some tweaking as you wouldn't be able to use the OE TPS, ISVC and you would deffinatly need a remap.

I would have said still go standalone as theres more room for play, altering the map would be easier than having to pay wayne at chipwizards Â£600 to alter standard map!

without sounding too negative, i really cant see the point in it. the whole idea of a set of throttle bodies/individual cabrs is to allow an equal amount of more air and fuel to each cylinder, if you were to enclose this then have it all the air running through the side via the MAF then you may aswell just have the one throttle body surely at the end how it is on a standard setup?
even if it does give you gains, the fabrication involved to make this custom plenum would probably cost you the same amount as a basic programble ecu such as megasquirt with more gains?
im not knocking it as i love to see something new and different but i will if it ends up costing just as much/is the same amount of work to build as conventional individual throttle body set up but gives you less in return if you see what i mean?
am interested in seeing pics of the car tho as its definatly an interesting concept!
