Good find!! That Mk1 was so fast, if you look on the mk 1 video at about 7mins 54 you see him come round the esses and pass me up the start finish straight, think thats when I got it wrong and went from 2nd to 5th.

I'd of loved to have gone in the GTi-6, but now I have the XSi, I doubt I'd be interested unless it was a course with plenty of technical corners and not many long straights. It's nearly the same speed as a 6 or 106 gti upto around 60/65 from standstill as I've tested out a few times but top end power just isn't there as it's only a 1.4 with little torque so it dampens the fun for track slightly

As woodsy said though open pitlane is the way to go, and if it was a weekends worth for under 200 quid, i'd do it regardless of what I said above as it's good value for money.

Duno if anyone is interested but there is a track local to me...amazing track for any level experience...i love this track its so much fun.

Works out at max £70 per car if you get 20 cars and each person will get a good amount of time on the track. last time i was on this track we all did about 3 hours each the track would be exclusive to us for the day as well.

just got to book a free day.lol

weekdays work out a bit cheaper as well

You'll find most wont allow over taking on corners and breaking zones.

But if the other drivers are good ones they would realise that you are carrying more speed through the corners and actually let you past before. Well i would if i was in that situation. Power isn't always everything!

Most people at Track days have been before so are usely quite good like that, but of course you will get the novice in his Corsa with Jap Can that wont move over.

But with Track days its useually open pit lane so you can set off when you want, so you can time it so you have as much open track in front as possible, thats if its not busy of course!
