I got to the point where it became to costly to keep my Si as was fixing it all the time, so in the end cut my losses and got rid!

thats some list Phil, you could have built the car from scratch with all that!!!

New steering rack is ordered and being fitted next week so am sticking with it, gonna leave the oil leak for the time being as its not a major problem.

When I get the car back am going to treat it to some TLC, with a "clay bar" and polish and a full clean inside and underneath.

If I show it some love it may not break again!!!

hope you get it all up and running again soon, bodywork looks in to good a condition to get rid off!! puts mine to shame!! was going to ask if you were going to do the performance ford track enening at Snetterton but sounds unlikly. im not lookin forward to MOT time!.

im looking to book that 1 to! hope to get new manifold and decat pipe this weekend and back on a rolling road, had it done couple of weeks ago @122BHP.
thing one more track day will just about see the end of the tyres to, especially if its hot, i was supprised how much effect the first 1 had, was looking at a set of slicks but think they may not take kindly to that on a novice day! also think the size of the slicks may be a problem with arch clearance as they bit bigger than 195/50/15's and need 6.5" min rims

Suprisingly my tyres seemed ok, but the had only done about 100 miles before the track day.

122bhp is a good effort, de cat and manifold should add a few more!

I'm going to stick with 1600 as its only done 59k and runs like a dream, could do with a couple of extra bhp so am going to get a decent panel filter.

Looking forward to May already, hopefully the weather will be ok again.

Haven't added an update for a while.

Tonight I went on the Performance Ford track evening at Snetterton, below is a picture:

Excellent evening, however I broke the car!!!

Lots of oil leaking out of it now, looks like main seal has gone, but is sprayed quite a bit of oil under the car, and even on the offside brake disk, also on the way back more worryingly the car seemed to wander across the road, left to right, I changed lanes a couple of times and when the offside wheel cross a cats eye I seem to lose control and the car learched left!!

Could it be a lower arm has gone, or track rod ends? Any thoughts?

Nice pic I miss that car

Trissy- mine used to wonder when the wishbone bushes were in a bad way but it could be
a whole number of things to be honest, best to have a poke around if you can get it up in the
air.

Will- I had that problem with it before, check steering column where it meets the rack, it went
loose before so it could be that, also check its not the steering wheel boss as that had a habbit
of loosening itself, needs some locktight really. Can't think of anything else on it that could be
worn out as it's all pretty new stuff really. I can't remember doing the tie rod ends mind, so it
might be worth checking them.
