the manifold is fitted, and i am lazy :lol:

the pics are on my phone, just need them transferred to the pc! :red:

The manifold has changed the sound of the car, it is now more throaty as well as being a bit more responsive, aswell as remaining very poppy :devil:

As well with the 2 rear tyres that were fitted on saturday, and potentially a K+N panel filter, (as cvhs respond well to better breathing) that is it now for the car!

Due to money situation, i've had to pull out of the wheel deal with onslack :cry:

So the project is done, will get the pics up when i am not so lazy :lol: and if i do fit a K+N i will get some of then.

Now is a matter of driving it around, unless someone offers me a serious offer :lol: but i am confident that i will be driving it around for the forseeable future. (i have seen mint ones like this go for £2000 in fast ford, so that is what i meant by serious offer, and also how that remains unlikely! But yo never know eh :) )

Thanks for the interest and comments on the car so far.......

A bit of a follow on from the above.

I think i have made a decision (for the time being :lol: ) that until i can afford a decent S2 i will just stick with the xr3i and make sure it stays in tip top condition.

Getting a couple more things painted after ford fair, namely a stone chipped bonnet!

But the xr3i is getting alot of attention in my area, which i like :red: :teehheee:

so i dont see the point of chopping it in, as the equivalent condition S2 is about £4000+

The paint looks ok from a distance, but is too scratched up for my liking and hopefully some of this is rectified prior to ford fair, if not after :)

Apart from planned bodywork i will also be looking into getting it re wax oyled and rust proofed, as featured in Fast Ford on a sapphire cosworth sierra a while back which should help with the fight against rust :lol: and hopefully give a sense if i ever sell it that it has been looked after

Also, i have been a little busy recently, but i will get new pics up soon..........

she did a 11.77 0-60, mole and jamiecliffe did 12.8 and 12.7 i think, but i am not 100% on the timing gear there.......

either way, i dont think it was to shabby for a 21 year old car, i didnt have the best of starts and i may have held it in 2nd to long :|

there is a video, hopefully post it on youtube soon, and link it!

hopefully she sounded good 8-)

And when i came back to get my car you wern't there :lol: but not to worry.

robs sisters vtr did a 10.2 and i am getting slated for it :cry: even though its falling apart and 14 years younger and even if my engine was brand new, 0.4 quicker to 60

Small Update :)

After realising the ford stuff from 1987 was utter turd :lol: i set about sorting out the speakers in the xr3i.

I have a new sony headunit also 8-) which was alot of fun fitting as the old headunit had been glued in? :? :rolleyes: :cry: so i have now scratched the centre console up a bit :cry: so will hunt for a mint new one :) Also, the plugs had been cut and hard wired, so i had to do the same with my new headunit :( but it all works :D

the front speaker turned out to be 10cm 110watt kenwoods that were not wired up :rolleyes: so i wired these into the headunit loom on the spare speaker wires with help from my best mate, who sorted the memory wire out 8-)

The rear speakers are now 13cm 130watt Pioneer TS speakers, and i can now actually hear music when driving over my exhaust :lol:

Also, washed her with my new meguiars gold class car shampoo, clayed her with my meguiars clay kit, and polished her up with my turtle wax polish and she is gleaming, excellent beading also 8-)

Yeah getting there, just got some xenon bulbs so i can see at night, and still waiting for the K+N to turn up.

May tinker with the suspension a little bit ;)

I've been offered robs wheels for £100 as he is going out with my sister :lol: but i'm not sure
