as for rust in the block um that mean lack of anti-freeze could have screwed the water pump yeh get a hg test done is it not over heating what made you think it needed a headgasket might still be worth doing as then u get all new cambelt+tentioner+skim(higher comp=slightly more poke)also including in the head set is valve stem seals that i would also fit so you would have a bebuilt head aswell maybe with a little porting if i have time thats if u want me to do it

well i think i was cheapest option and i would do the head gasket anyway just so it dont have to be done in future mate!! always cover yourself with these sort of things get it done while u can mate

Just out of interest.. why don't you try doing the headgasket etc yourself?
Get somewhere to skim the head etc, not too hard

its my daily drive...looks like a b***rd to put the cam belt on... dont really have the tools any more as my dad took them all...so i wanted it done quick....seems fine now....water is just rusty.. dont even wanna knw why ....but it still drives so MEH
