Hi all hopefully the last post on this section. i have put a 2.0 in a fiesta si and all was not well. have sorted the idle out now as the injectors had packed up. so replaced with the 1.6 ones and runs sweet. now the idle is sorted now the engine missfires on load??? if the engine is revved slowly then it will rev all the way to 6700rpm no problem and no missfire. but if revved abit quicker then the engine will stay at what ever rev it was at and missfire??? the car has had new plugs leads coil ect... if someone out there can help you will be a lifesaver. many thanls paul

sounds similar to a problem i had....
for me it was a ignition problem, with 1 broken wire in the loom (near the bulkhead) which caused it all. Sounds like some form of ignition problem to me....
does it splutter when missfiring?

yes does splutter but only on load, where was the wires that had gone located

The 1.6 injectors are probably not going to help matters, they are gonna be maxed out and struggling to feed the engine enough petrol quick enough

wire i was on about was attacted to a big plug near bulkhead...
trace from the coilpack back and see if you come across anything...

no hissing as i have sorted that and brand new plugs leads and coil. running 2.0 ecu but have swapped it to the 1.6 one to see if there was any differance. sadly no differance so have put the 2.0 ecu back on still the same. the multi plug that was mentioned seems to be fine and all cables are connected. i was having a think and was thinking about the fuel pressure?? and i herd of people running the 2.0 on the smaller injectors with no problems only a slight loss of power?

i think 1.6 injectors would be hard pushed to flow enough to be good enough on a 2.0 especially if ur revving to 6700rpm

just one little thing i may be way for the mark but have you reset the ecu ?
its a little erm 3 amp fuse wip it out and wait 30 seconds put it back in and run the car up 10-20 mins at 2000 rpm see if that sorts it
