Hi there,
heres my problem,
i had my fiesta si for about a year and a half, i done the following mods to the engine
kent cams
chipped ecu
2.0 inlet
2.0 maf
de-cat
ashley system
fse pressure regulator
k&n
and various tweaks here and there
it was quick for a 1.6, i could happily play with the mk5 zetec-s and pretty much anything 1.6/1.8 N/A
but the car didnt really have the edge i wanted.
so i decided to go for the rs1800 conversion (it was going to be 2.0 but the fuel costs put me off)
so i got my rs1800 lump with 77k miles came with all ancilleries, was just missing the rad and the ECU
i dropped the rs1800 lump in the other day, it wouldn't run(properly) on 1.6 management with the chip so i spoke to "happypaul" who advised me to get the CULT ecu, it was hard to find , but i got one, i also got the maf to match it to, somehow.
i put the ecu in, and connected the maf, set the fuel pressure on the regulator to about 1.8bar on tickover (thats about the standard fuel pressure)
but the car is still slow (well as quick as my SI) i know this as i had a little chase with my girlfriends golf which is 100bhp
there are massive flat spots
and the inlet is noisy
does anyone have any idea's what might cause massive flat spots
the maf is cleaned, i've done the idle control valve and solenoid
i set the timing up with the engine out of the car when i did cam belt and water pump so i know its spot on.
please chuck in some suggestions
i will try them and report back
i cant believe the rs1800 lump gives out the same power as my lightly modded 1.6
currently using 2.0 inlet, (ive tested the TPS with volt meter to ensure the WOT is giving the correct ohm resistant (well the same as several cars down the scrappy

i've tried with and without maf
i've cleaned up all connected for crank and cam position sensors
i am using the CULT ecu
thanks for your help in advanced,
