hi all hope you can help? have just recently fitted a 2.0 engine to my si and all is well untill it started. have sorted a few things out but now but its still missing through the rev range as well as the idle?? have done a compression check and three cylinders are the same and one is abit higher but all in all good compression. the plugs are covered in a black soot if this helps. ive put the 2.0 injectors, air mass, ecu and throttle body on as well as new plugs and a tested set of leads and a tested coil? but dont know what to look at next?? any sugestions welcome

what plug's and leads are you using?

standard plugs and leads for the 2.0

might sound like a daft Q but,you got all the connectors on in the right place?and air leaks?

try a coil m8 they are very crappy and work on a benchtest but not on the car worth a go

coil was ok it was the 2.0 injectors the spray pattern was abit differant on one of them as i took the fuel rail out and turned the engine over. 3 were fine but the 4th was like a water gun just one straight line and not a spray. the new problem is that when you rev the engine slowly its fine but when the heavy foot gets planted to the floor (as you do ) it goes straight into a missfire until you let off the gas. my suspision is either the fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulator?? any sugestions welcome

try the throttle switxch sounds like its giving the wrong signal or none at full throttle i had the same prob on my 16v mk2 golf
