Interior sound deadening?

I need to do some serious sound deadening in my project car, and would like to know if anyone knows CHEAP ways of doing so, as I refuse to spend loads on that dynomat stuff etc

Any ideas welcome ;)

one of the things which effect road noise is the tyres, but where you start with whats good or bad ive no idea, rock wool type insulation loosly behind door panels may help, but only as short term as will hold moisture leading to rust!

flashing tape, for flat roof repairs etc, not as good as dynamat, but cheaper
