erm i have just pulled out my ecu out of my donar car/mondeo 2.0 95. and its a TELL ECU wil this work with the si conversion or do i have to get a desk deep or dewy. and do i need the key will the ecu or does my key work? o yea can i run the 2.0 on the 1.6 ecu untill i get a new 1 thats if i need 1.

you need a DEEP, DESK or DEWY if you just want to plug it into your loom and for it to work

i think it will run on a 1.6 ECU but very badly, it would be worth sourcing a correct ECU ASAP. Phone some local breakers and ask them if they have any mk1 Mondeo 2.0 in and if they do ask them to look for a ECU with the above code

This is how i found mine and was half the price they are going for on eBay and through breakers on 247parts

From what Ive heard it will be fine on a 1.6 ECU at lower revs, by fine I mean it will get you by and run the car, obviously nowhere near ideal, but as the revs increase I think it will run leaner.
Id say your alright for a bit till you source a correct one as long as you dont hone too often.
Obviosuly its your choice though and if you melt the engine it isnt my fault

I ran my RS1800 on a 1.6 ecu for a month, didnt do any harm to it, although this may be different with the 2.0ltr engines

soon as you put the proper ecu in you notice the power
