hi, i was just wondering about the power boast (or kick ) you get from a 1.6.

what kinda revs should this ..kick be at or around?

as mine does it about 3.5k is this about right or is it too low?

as ive just been told it should be around 4.5?

kick? there is no "kick" with the si afaik, the power delivery should be quite smooth.
Then again it has been a while for me lol

I had one around 4ish, cleaned the MAF and it went! :)

The kick everyone will be refering to is the power which seems to "kick" in after the flatspot the zetec seems to have around 3k

I take it you mean the start of the power band. Mine's at 4k, the 1.6 was around 3.5k

yea thats it. i heard the 1.6 zetec starts off with a flat spot and then kicks in, the 2.0 is all smooth.

how hows best to clean it? = maf

just outta askin,what is the maf? is it the tiny piece of wire that streaches across the air intake behined the airfilter.

if so ive got some rc car motor cleaner which is a bit like carb cleaner.if i was to clean this part with this sort of product,what should i gain?

think im gonna have a quick cleaning session

maf - just with a cotton bud
injectors - just with redex -
new fuel filter
Clean K&N pannel

that should free things up abit :)
