Okay, new year, new thoughts. Lost interest in the fez recently, so really need to rekindle the interest. (and as you know, i dont do saying, I do doing) so going to use this as a scratching pad, this isnt definitly what Im goign to do, but I wanna write my ideas down for now.

I'm going to change the fez around a little bit. not 100% sure on whats going to be going down yet, but I know it will change.

electrics:
Im going to use my knowledge of auto electrics and wiring to do somethign funky in that dept.... (thinking astra GTE clocks behind a tinted panel so its blank, but lights up nicely when on.... maybe. or a 2nd LCD screen from the CarPC - or separate dedicated carpc displaying custom clocks), CarPC controlling everything..... (windows, boot release, heating, inbuilt SatNav etc), heated massage seats sewn into the seat (keeping current orange/black trimmed seats)
sink battery into floor in boot.

interior trim:
current seats as they are, dye current slightly faded carpet JET black and trim with some funky orange stitching... writing? picture? emblem? etc?
custom designed dashboard, or somethign modified from somethign else to fit (glass it) - somethign UNIQUE.
turn car into a 4 seater, 2 from 2 back - all 4 SI seats with the carpc core in a 'something pretty'... armrest? box? ideas?

engine:
2.0 ZT or supercharger. looking minimum of 225bhp - will spend whats required to get it done and done right.
MS ECU - carpc control

mechanics:
ZS rear beam polybushed
poly'd all other bushes.
recon of my custom gearbox to make sure its all 100% (its not a straight derv)
upgraded brakes - something to reign in the 225bhp

wheels:
15" of some nature in black (sticking with black/orange theme)

body:
need rst vents fitting properly AGAIN
skirt damage from FF07 fixing.
ALL RUST TO BE KILLED - again whatever cost to have it done fully and correct
re-underseal all underneath again.
bootlid cutting and plating to remove all the heavy filler. (no more cracking)

something funky with the body... pickup done wont copy. decent cabrio..... hmmm. what about roof?

misc:
electric window actuator on bootlid for auto lift.

ICE:
decent speakers allround (not too powerful)
decent amps to power (not too powerful)
no headunit as carpc direct to amps.

carpc:
cameras front and rear
mp3
video
satnav
digi dash?
engine diag once turbod
boostcontrol once turbod



those are my ideas... what do you think?

Although I'd keep it as a hatchback as it is.. the 4 seats idea is great.. along with the carpc idea with all the clocks, custom dash etc!!

ZT or SC would be great.. I wanna do that to the RS1800 engine in the pickup to give it a tad more, but its being arsed!

sounds like you have some funky ideas on the go there dude. as for the auto lift on the boot Mk3's used a singular stronger strut. use 2 of those and bingo no motors or electrics required. just the std boot pop assembely. hope it all works out for you and you get to rock up at ford fair 2009

Here we go again - Alex is a bit older now and less dependent on me being around 100% of the time, I have spare money to put into the car now and I have 2 enthusiastic mates who are kicking my ass about letting it rot on my drive so the bean will be coming back to life soon!

Updated page one, but keys things to do are finish the interior, probably fabricate a whole new dashboard out of fiberglass and get it flocked (my largest FG project to date!), weld up some rot!, re-loom car, install carpc and other "electrical goodies", MOT, Tax.....

You get the picture - I would welcome some encouragement and a kick up the ass every now and again to make sure I keep up with getting things done!!!! Damn it - I will get it back on the road for next show season!

Glad to see a revival, look forward to seeing you and the bean, so get your ass in gear and have it ready for next season or sooner, better still come xmas sixfields!
