Spur of the moment investigations on Glanzas made me ponder the insurance on a turbo import hatch. I've had loads of quotes on most kinds of sporting cars but I have noticed being an import can bump it up a bit. I went onto a Glanza forum to see what the score was and the kids are paying stupid money, so i thought ahh it's gonna be a costly affair. Sure enough it is, a quick quote from Elephant - £360! :lol: They're paying £1000+! I love being a codger :teehheee: BTW, my GTi renewal is £260! Bonus.

I cant see one of them little 1.3 things being a better choice over the amount of cars you will be able to insure at your old age :)

Yeah glanza insurance was £650 for me same as the Gti,
not bad for no NCB as I've allways been named driver up untill now.

Paul- Glanza's are awsome, you can get 180BHP safely on standard internals with
just a few mods and upping the boost to 1.1 BAR.
And well over 200BHP if you go to town on the bottom end and gets forged pistons etc.

Honestly mate they are rapidoooo!

Was thinking about getting one but don't have the cash for one in good nick really.

Man, a starlet import on 12 months (not crappy 10) with fi on the insurance fully comp is £768 for me through elephant! jesus H! :nerd:

But then they want a grand for me to insure my current car with how it is now haha! more than 50% increase on what i pay y0

I'll accept that I can get a starlet insurance for about £400 then. Not bad. :chill:

yeah being old does have its advantages, last year i got quoted £350 for a M3 EVO, also tried the a FQ320 and a few scoobies (turbo versions) and didnt have any problem getting decent quotes..

What get's me is the fact that I can insured say a group 10 car for a few hundred quid, but insuring a group 3 car only saves me about 5/10%. :rolleyes:

Does anyone else have this problem?
