UPDATE: been very busy 2day. done the cambelt and the zorst mid section on my car.
cambelt change nearly ended up bad, we put the new belt on all timed up perfect but sumhow the belt must have slipped a few teeth, as wen i we put everything bk together and started the engine up it made a hell of a banging/clattering noise. i thought i wud have needed a new engine but luckily after we took it all apart again and re-timed the engine it was ok and it ran sweet so lukily no damage was dun to the engine.

also the exhaust was a bit of an arse to change but we got ther in the end :D

prob best get a donor car to make it easier

i think engine mounts are the same...
i would suggest Rs engine, but your right in what you say about your age, it'd cost big time :insanity:
someone should be able to clarify if the mounts are the same...

i think the mounts are the same, but i'm not 100% sure

and not sure about bolting bits off the 1.6 2i onto your 1.4, not sure if they'd fit etc., but if your willing to try not harm in it at all ;)

you can see how far i got here:

http://www.club323f.com/club323f/forum/ ... highlight=

its only surface rust as you can see but it was irritating me....theres only that and one more 5 p slight surface bubble above the rear drivers side window....oh and the back arch has a pinhead sized spot or 2 on the underside(i'm observant)...but they should be easy to sort hopefully

just waiting for the frigging paint to arrive.....good luck and there is a pic somewher eont hat page of the door handles i did...think they turned out well, eventually
