Hello again u lot i am after all of your advise!! well i might not be selling my xr2i anymore so need some help. I am thinkin bout stripping it out seeing as i am doin track time at ford fair this year.. do u all think i should strip it out or leave it with the seats and sound system in it?? I really wanna just strip it out firstly because i like track cars , secondly my spoiler keeps rippin screws out where suspension is so hard and i was thinkin bout texaco graphics or something to make it look like a proper track car. Hopefully u can all reply really quickly and let me know cheers rob.

cheers onslack where can i get a cheap rollcage from and i need a set of hranesses dont wanna lose my recaros as they r so comfortable oh and 2 strut braces???? can u tell becks to add me and meilack to the camping thread we r def in as we wanna meet u all !!! by the way me andmeilack are massive ford heads even gonna have the tattoo to prove it !!!!

i'd check ebay for a roll cage and harnesses, other than that i'm not sure where/who sells them :cry:

same for strut braces really, i think new ones are like £100, but ebay is your friend for cheapness ;)

i shall tell her, she'll hopefully see the thread tonight when she gets home from work :D tatto's :o

ive just changed my 2litre Si into a road legal track car. strip it out, but not everything would leave carpet and head lining in as little weight but make a lot of differance to the noise level, i sold recaro interior for £100, brought two secondhand bucket seats of ebay for £50, pair of new 4point harnesses for £45, these were not FIA approved but ok for track days and as cheep as second hand ones, full roll cages on the bay seem to still be about £200-£250! havent got one yet hoping to keep it on its wheels in meen time! front strut brace secondhand £35. as a track car handling is great and upsets lots more expencive ones.
Get it stripped and book the Performance ford track evening at snetterton in july!!! C U there!!!

track days are expensive because everyone i know is addicted to them. once you drive on track, you never want to go back.

I'd love to track a car very often, but as said.. expensive as fook!

Was talking to the old bloke in the FCGB marquee at FITP and he was telling me they have a stripped out xr2i which they trailer just for use at Ford Fair :o

He claimed you could take a car with no MOT for use on the track, but I thought they still had to be MOT'd

most track day organisers state cars must be to MOT standard or MSA race standard however mine is MoT'ed but has never been checked only ever been noise tested. think they take it you got to be a bit daft to take something out which isnt 100%, if they then think its not acceptable standard it be black flagged and end of you day and £100-£170 down the drain.

I agree with Will strip it but not too far!!

I use mine on the track and I've still got full interior, and it handles very well, am looking for second hand front brace though to stiffen things up.

Track days are awsome, I have done my first 2 this year and am addicted, racing on the road is for idiots.

I'll be at the Performance Ford track day in July as well, then will be as putting it on the track at Ford Fair, so get it stripped and we'll see you there!!
