lil update on the engine, havnt been able to buy any parts for it as im pretty skint untill i get payed again soooo......i took the rs1800 tb apart and cleaned all the linkage and the bore and it all came up pretty well! also gave the ports of the inlet a good clean to get rid of all the sot in them and then gave the outside of it a good buff to get it to match the rocker cover 8-)

so i trial fitted the inlet and tb and im very impressed with how it looks concidering how bad condition it was when i got it! also wanted it attached to the engine so i dont have so many parts just laying around :lol:

just need to get this sump... the guy with the rs1800 who i got the inlet off said if i want it i have to take it off the car myself :shock: and it would cost me £35 for it and the pick up pipe! so i thought no..... :lol:

haha, cheers for the replys! yeah i think the special business was sorted bar the sump :xmasghey: lol

anyway i got bored thisafternoon and thought id have a go at getting the speedos to light up from behind rather than infront. went quite well tbh, i only had blue bulbs which have been sitting under my bed for years and i only had 3 hence why the fuel and temp arnt lit yet! ill get around to doing them some point at the weekend, also need to find a way to light the needles up too as i cant see them haha. anyway heres a pic, comments welcome.

as for how i did it, it cant be done on all fiesta dials as i found out. take your speedo out the car and remove the front cover so that you can get to the dial faces, check if the dials are made out of thin plasic or metal, as some are metal, in this case you wont be abel to do this. if you have the plasic ones then shine a touch behind and see if the numbers light up, if so all you have to do is fit some bulbs in behind the dials, link them upto something in the light circuit so that when the lights are swiched on the dials come on aswell fit it all back togeth and then you have back lit dials!. very very simple if you have the right dials but im guessing all si's should be the same:) if i get time ill put a guide together for it :)

Right well a lil update on the engine, havnt updated this in ages, its done now, finially got the sump of terry and got it all cleaned up and bolted onto the engine so it all looks pretty much new now:) the sump was in a right state, i was suprised i even got it that clean(terry will tell you) :lol: cant wait to get it in the bay!
