got my si saturday there was some rust bubbles and su1 had coverd sum with black silicone so ive investegated and this is wot ive found. does any 1 think it shud be new pannels or not because i have a xr2i skirts n arches 2 put on thanks.

I would get that sorted asap....and most likely with a new panel....that on the door which looks not to have gone through may be able to be sanded down, filled and painted but not too sure.....the holes deffo need new panels i think

would i hav 2 replac ethe whole guatre panel or can u just hav the arch cut out n re welded in cuz i gather just the arch would be easiyer n cheaper but obv id just get 2 ne wings welded in ???? thanks

Get a new wing for the front, or cut the rust off and stick the kit over the top :)

Rear panel, you can either do a full one, and I am sure you can get little arch panels, but then it depends on the quaity of the fitting and welding wether it will last for long or not

Whats the rest of the car like?! floor pan, sills etc? If its bad I wouldnt bother starting to fix it

yeh i did because it was coverd with silicone so i had 2 get all the flaking rust off

You've got to ask the question - is it really worth it? My first fiesta had arches just like that. After wasting money on it i ended up giving it away for free :lol:

Unless you can get it done cheaply then just get rid dude.

im not getting rid i bought it as a project, i no sum1 that is a welder and fabricater so im gunna ask them. that shurly aint that bad compaired 2 sum peoples cars and its gunna b coverd up by xr2i arches so i could get rid off the rust n fiberglass it n stick the arch on

If arches are covering it you could just grind the fcuk out of it. Leave just enough room to get the arches attached.

ive looked under the carpet and there is a few little bit cuming through, little bit meaning the size of half a credit card so i can get that sorted but other then that the rest of the car is pretty solid. as 4 the rear arch im gunna grind away the bad stuff then smooth it up with sum filler or or maby try n weld sumthing in there 2 make it stronger then just put the arch over it then i think it shud all be ok

as fletch sed ive grinded the fcuk out of it gunna fiberglass the rear arch 2 make it less smoother and ive grinded the rust back on the doors and gunna fill them n re paint
