helo every one,i am new to fsi, i must say it is the best. i was just woundrin if my si is standard apart from exhaust and pipecross filter because i think its bloody fast for a normal 1.6, last car was a bmw 316 shit but funny in the wet ;) the si would leave it for dead tho and i had a vecky 1.6 nuffink compared to the my si. the si is fast i kept up with a bmw 330d newish 1 he did go abit when he hit 3rd but a island was there then i was on his ass again :insanity: lol , a cilo 2.0 sport aswell, back to the point my si does 60-65 in second gear gets to it quickish aswell i wud reckon it does 0-60 8.5 what do yous think this is standard?

well if what your sying is 100% true then yes i'd say it isn't std. however i think its more likely thoes other cars wern't trying.
it should be faster than a 1.6 vectra and 3 series though, just through lack of weight

As chop suey said,

If it does 0-60 in 8.5 seconds its probably got a 2l instead of a 1.6 as you'd be looking at 10.5 secs (quite a big difference)

I vaugely remember mouse telling me about the ever so slight differences in 1.6 and 2.0 engines to tell the difference...

Once I remember what it was I'll get back to you :red:

i managed to get 60 in second when my si was last on the road as a 1.6, as said its prob a 2.0 or 1.8 then, but i could easily beat 318 beamers and as chop suey said the bmw's a alot heavier oh and .....1.6 vectras are very slow

Doubt the 330D was trying it, there quick, they had to be de-tuned as they where kicking out more torque than the m3, they would destroy a 2.0l si! :) especially if its a rolling start! :)

You could take off the rocker cover and see what the part # on the cams are! :)

60-62 in second??

I thought the Si boxes couldnt do that and you had to change to 3rd to hit 60mph??

Although, I beg to differ with the BMW 316's and 318's, the fiesta would out accelorate the 316 up to about 80mph. as we have done this when i had my 316 :P

they are funny in the wet till you roll them 5 times into a field :P

As for 0-60 times try and borrow a sat nav off someone (if you haven't your own) Your clock will be overeading if you really are hitting 60 in that tie with a 1.6. My first Si was like that

If it turns out to be a 2.0 though :chill:

just make sure it's declared

It's rather funny really, surprised trhe seller forgot to mention something like that!

I was on slip road today in my 1.6 neck and neck with a 320D, so was gonna say no way could a 1.6 have kept with a 330D.

Bet your feeling happy now anyway!

Ooh, almost forgot, check what the codename is on your ECU, if it's a 2.0l you should ideally be running on DEEP, DESK or DEWY. Now you need to know the difference between 2.0 and 1.8 though.........
