Update-age, where i've actually done something rather than just buy bits!
Well, i bought a 106 Derv Rad and 205 header tank (the Rallye standard rad has the header built in) to use for the charger conversion as if i was to use the standard rad the header tank would foul the Chargers outlet. I got these for cheap, but then a week or so later a Pace/GMC Ali rad came up for sale, it came with a header tank and a slimline fan for a price that was far to cheap!
new there about £600!!!!!!!!!
and thats just the Rad no header tank or fan!
Its nearly double the thickness too!
Anyway in the snow on saturday i fitted the new Rad, got a Tad inpatient with the mud guards, so lets just say they wont be getting refitted

about 2 mins later, only hard parts is the fact you have to lengthen the bottom hose a tad and it looks like this
When i go Fusion for my boost pipes ill get lee to make a decent bracket for it!
The Fun part was finding a place for the header tank, this took nearly an hour to try and sort, i had to place it next to the battery and held in place with a bungee cord
I need to relocate the battery to free some space and the header also needs the bracket modifying so it mounts better!
The bottle is the temp expansion tank!
While i had the front bumper off i painted the Towing eye red as it looks sooooo much better in Red!
I then had a trial fit of my intercooler and used some guttering down pipe as boost pipes, this confirmed that i will need to relocate the battery!
Hose will come up and cross over where the battery is, as far over the right as i can to avoid heat soak!
I put the bumper back on with the IC in place, looks good i think, nice and sleeperish, for hard driving/sprints/track time, the number plate will be removed and i'll have a number of holes drilled into it to aid airflow! You will also see how much better the towing eye looks!
Also here's some more bits that i have lieing around that i've collected!
A saxo VTR gearbox, they have a longer Final Drive and are known to be slightly stronger!
Plan to run it while the Rallye box gets rebuilt with a Quaife LSD!
GMC charger bracket, with Idler and tenshioning pulley and the drive belt!
A lower engine/gearbox mount with a Group N mount pressed in!
A Multi layer steel headgasket, its about 1.6mm thick!
Timing belt kit and some oil!
Ordered a fair bit last week, but due to bank holidays etc they've not arrived!
