Ive picked up my new super brakes, i new they were big but have less than 4k on them, so everything is in vgc shame i have to wait till payday before i can afford some 15s. meh.

Fitted my rear omp strutbrace, and spent ages fitting my new indicator, as i realised that all of my lights pointed in different directions (the front fell off of the old one when i shut the bonnet ) so a bit of adjusting and swearing later, and most of them point forward

On my 4th attempt at fitting my cossie foglights, i got as far as re-mounting the bumper before i realised,
1) i couldnt attach the bumper as the bolts go behind the lights, mine were sitting on the floor....
2) you need to cut the back off of the indicators, which i hadnt

So now, after catching my splitter all over the place, im tempted to just get a standard si bumper, especially as the paint is peeling off of the cossie one, but this pic is pushing me towards a 2i kit..



Also the car has obviously had a respray in the past, but the coats are too thick so the paint comes off in big chunks, the finish is rather orange peely and the lacquer is peeling on the rear bumper, plus im discovering more and more rust everytime i look at the car

On top of that im not a great fan of the mondeo spoiler, but it has been screwed through through the boot, so i cant really remove it without changing / repairing the boot holes.

oh and im also going to be changing the rear lights, im planning on getting some clears, and tinting them. would like something a bit different but still subtle, maybe smoked but with black indicators. Still thinking on that front..

Whats a ball park figure for a blow over in aubergine, or is it going to need more work as the current layer of paint is a bit pants?

in all seriousness tho a wise man once said "a cheap paint job is not good, a good paint job is not cheap, so it will be at least 1k

clears done in red tint all over but leaving the indicator clear looks the sex, as per onionko4(look for his members gallery thread)

Written my car off this morning about 9, heres a pic have some digital ones to be posted up later this is off of my phone.



As you can see it is a complete write off.

I have already admitted liability which was probably the wrong thing to do, here is my description of events as honestly as i can.

Driving down a narrow residential road with parked cars on each side, drive past a big gap, indicate and reverse into it but found i was partly obscuring a driveway so pulled out to do a 3 point turn. I did not use my mirror before i pulled out but was looking over my shoulder as i did so but its not like i sat there looking for a long time i just sort of pulled out as i looked if that makes sense, but anyway almost straight away a silver golf hit me and it felt like it lifted the front of my car off the road and it pushed me over a car length forward into a KA parked in front of me which i came down on and must have bounced back about a foot, judging by where my car finished up.

The golf continued 3 or 4 car lengths down the road whereupon the driver got out and shouted that he didnt think there was any question over whose responsibility it was which i agreed as if i had been looking properly it wouldnt have happened.

However judging from the distance my car has moved (impact mark is over a car length behind the back of my car) and the speed i was going when i hit the KA, bear in mind i was practically stationary at the point of impact, combined with the fact that the other driver neither swerved, hooted or left any skid marks on the road, Dad reckons that he was also fairly responsible as he was either speeding and/or not paying due attention. Dad argues that if i had been a kid just walking out without properly looking and the golf had failed to respond then it would be completely his fault.

I dont really know as i feel that im going to want to remove as much blame from myself as i can but im not sure whether im justified to do so :S

Anyway all comments welcome of course but looks like i may have to back out of car ownership for a while

Also this means im now breaking the car if theres anything you want just ask.
