Right I don't know if this would ever take off, but since the new year I've been very anal, and decided to write down the details of everytime i go to a petrol station this month, to see my average MPG over a month, the cost and how many miles i've travelled.

Car: 306 GTi-6

date cost fuel/litres Miles
1st january. £32.08. vpower @ 30. 200.
6th january. £15. 95 @ 14.72. 110.
10th january. £40. 95 @ 35.80. 250.
19th january. £20. vpower @ 18. 150.
23rd January. £15. 95 @14.30. 90.
26th January. £32. vpower @ 28.60. in progress.

Pretty much in January I'll have done 1000 miles on this tank, spent £152 on fuel, and average the MPG of 32.1 which costs 15.4 pence a mile!

Maybe I'm being sad, but shall we start making a collection on here of everytime we fill up, how many miles we get and how much we pay? Then we can post, and just edit our posts everytime.

friday 25th january 39 quid @ 38.27L = 239 = 28.3mpg

200 miles on 23.5 litres (half a tank) = 38.69 mpg or 12p a mile!

yea thats a bit sad, but i guess you did accounting so its normal for you, i'll do it for a week :lol:

25/1/08 £15 at £1.05.9 a litre :red: i didn't reset my trip meter.
when i go empty i'll start again :lol:

Tooling around in my dad's Volvo 850 2.5 20v estate at the moment due to the Saab being poorly, getting about 14-19 Mpg around town and 25-30 on longer runs :o I've never visited petrol stations so much in one week!
