How old are you
How many years NCB you have! :)

1.6 Si's can be picked up for £500 on average now, then spend £500 on 2.0ltr'ing it! :)

But Ph1 Saxo VTS' can be picked up for £1k now or even less, id not go for the VTR, IMO there Crap and every fooker has one! :)

And don't go for an escort, there just to big and heavy and handle like a boat, ask mark_F1 he has one!

 ye i knew i left details off. im 19 just gone and no ncb. i was looking at moes si when he was selling but i didnt have money for it so ended up getting my 1.1. dont know what the costs of 2 litre will cost me insurance wise but its been my plan for while get si do what i want body wise which isnt alot and then put 2litre in it. my only worry buying another ford is rust probs, my car got through it mot last month with no real problems, was a close call on emmisions but rest was fine. a si is still my main choice because ive wanted 1 for a while now and come to prefere the look of si than alot of cars

Don't 2.0l till you have at least 1yr NCB! :)

I say buy a 1.6 Si and start collecting and building a 2.0l engine, so when the time comes you can just slap it in! :)

ive learnt that from my 1st attempt at buying a si months back and closest i found that was decent was moes, but couldnt afford and all others round where too far or rotted away so bad it was shocking to see people leave them to get so bad, or when a good price one came up and was local i couldnt afford so getting my money and now ive got own car i can travel how far i need to as before i was left to relying on people for lift which isnt ever good thing

The problem with the Sis now is they are rotting, don't get me wrong there is some great ones. The 1.6si then a 2.0 later does seem a good plan. The 2.0 is cheap to insure I only got rid of mine due to insurance.

As for the Saxo, it depends on insurance, I believe the are insurance group 7/14 or the VTR/VTS, I would say just get the VTS if insurance allow but other wise the the VTR is nippy but as mentioned a lot more common.

Your free to have a ride in my VTS as I don't live a million miles away and that will give a good idea on the VTS/106 GTI.

The other thing could be buy a 1.6si rotbox on the cheap and run it for a year and then look again.

the fiesta has a better overall driving postion, saxo has cramped pedals, it standard trim a saxo vts would handle better than a si

Pedals are fine for me, with my size 11's! :) Find them better than the Fiesta as its easy to heal and toe, blipping on down shifts, yo! :chill:

Get more on the Vts than you would a Fiesta, but a 2.0si will be cheaper to buy, maintaining and reliablity will be different, depending on what the car is like ; I.E Nail, or been driven by a Granny all its life. :)

Parts wise, both cheap and easy to get hold of, Saxo will respond better to breathing mods. I've found the Rallye is as easy as the Fiesta to work on! :)

Had really good fun with my 2.0l si and have as must if not maybe more with the rallye, Si was more sleeperish as people just think its a Rot box Fiesta! :)

Both have pro's and Cons at the end of the day it would be up to you to decide, pop down to sixfields and have a ride in a 2.0l si and if you haven't been in percys VTS ill take you out in the Rallye (granted its not 16v like the VTS but it has as much power as the VTS now with my Mods so will be the same) :)

Like i said at the end of the day it should be your final descision not others as peoples opinions vary!
