The College Project:

Rover 220 Turbo Coup?

Bought this car recently with cracked piston, rust patches, top end tapping, dodgy clutch, very dodgy selector, and other little niggles. all to be sorted in a full engine rebuild for a college project.

Ive always loved the rover coupes and the 200 bhp turbo engines especially.

i like the si and the rover, the seats in the rover are quite smart! how much bhp has the rover got? how can you tell the difference between the turbo version youve got and the non turbo one?

right here goes, the rover is stated at 200bhp, but in reality, the majority at this age come out more around 170. yes the seats are as comfy as they look , even in the back.

right then, the thing that points out that its a 2 litre is the bonnet bulge, but to be perfectly honest i dont know the differences between the 220t and the nasps!!!

just trying to figure out wether im likely to win in a race against one, cause this lad has got one round near me and he has a thing about racing me, he allways used to do it in his old car and i used to woop his ass, but now he has got one of them rovers and i wanna try and win him when i get my 2.0 in!

hmmm tough one, if you assume if its turbo'd, itl will be around 170 std ish? if you ever hear it drive past they came with a recirc d.v as standard, so might be worth having a listen
