I had completely missed this post
I drive a group 20 Import, and pay for the pleasure of doing so. I could have stuck my engine in a 1.4 Sunny and not told the insurance, but that would be pretty bloody stupid.
As said, insurance is null and void by doing this. You'll only get yourself in the sh!t should something happen and the insurance find out about your turbo.
I think people's problem with all this, and quite rightly so, is that we pay insurance, tax and petrol. Why should we endorse someone to do an engine change and not tell the insurance, and therefore only pay a fraction of what they should be when we are paying full whack?
To be perfectly honest, I hope anyone who drives without insurance get's fcuked over by the law.
A great comment that the law is "gay". Yes, it may well be a pain in the ass sometimes, but guess what, we all have to live by it. The issue of speeding is not at question here, it's the fact that we pay insurance correctly. It's people who don't that help push up insurance costs for everyone else.
Quite frankly, if you don't agree with that, then that's your choice, but don't expect us to agree when you say you're not going to tell the insurance.
