Well, it's getting to that point again. Time for a rant.

Last night I stuck £20 of V-Power in the car. It's currently at 102.9p for me at the local Shell, which is one of the cheapest in Brum. I believe the normal unleaded was 96.9 or something similar. Not too sure as I don't pay attention to the price of normal unleaded anymore.

But I was chatting to the security guard and he told me it was going up last night to 105.9p :| So I asked the manager in the petrol station and she had a list of the prices which were indeed going up that night.

Now, the thing that pisses me off, is that nobody moans until normal unleaded gets to about the £1 mark. I have to put up with these stupid prices for V-Power as I can't put normal unleaded in unless I want my engine to blow up.

Yes, yes, I know it's my own fault for buying an import blah blah blah. But that's besides the point. The fact is that petrol prices are going up again to ridiculous amounts, and yet nobody has complained, because normal unleaded isn't at the £1 price that people despise so much. The petrol companies will get a couple of weeks of higher prices until there is outrage, by which time they've made an absolute fortune on top of their already staggering profit margins. And only then will they reduce it.

But has nobody else noticed that when they reduce it, they don't put it back to what it was. They put it to 1p or 2p higher, yet people are happy because it's lower than what it was at it's peak. They'll blame crisis in the middle east as the cause for higher prices, and the cost of barrells of oil etc, but it's getting to be an absolute joke.

And the government aren't blameless. Of course the tax on our petrol is stupidly high and has been for some while. Why has nothing been done about this?

I'm sick of it. The fun of driving is being taken away for car enthusiasts. It's going to be too expensive to drive to work soon enough, and guess what - that's what the plan is. Well bollocks. I'm going to make sure I can afford to run my de-catted, high performance, petrol guzzling, over fuelling, ozone hating car for as long as I possibly can.

I'm sick of cold summers anyway! So bring on global warming! I want to see natural palm tree's growing in Weston Super Mare. I want to see bush fires because it's so hot. I want hose pipe bans.

So stick that in your petrol price rises! How long before one of those petition things gets going round the car forums again? ;)

Sorry for the essay. Just pissed off with it all.

i know what you mean des  #

but... even tho i dont need to, but my car run's better on V-power i am paying 106p at the mo, even normal unleaded makes my car jerky and run like a sack

so i would give my left nut to pay 102, well it will soon be 105

i will carry on driving my car too, i refuse to get public transport as its utter wank

I refuse public transport aswell. Hate it. Uncomfortable, full of weirdo's, and it just isn't safe. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't drop you off exactly where you want to go, and you are always relying on it. If one bus doesn't show up it can ruin your entire journey.

And yes, I know that 102.9 is pretty cheap for V-Power, although I'm sure it can be got cheaper elsewhere. But the fact is I get about 80 miles to £20! It's a nightmare. Gotta get the scrote up and running. I might decat that just to stick my fingers up to the government!

me and my g/f were talking about this the other night, there raiseing petrol prices and wanting people to use public transport but the public transport prices are going up aswell! so we cant win a bus from mine is about £1.80 to go about a mile from what my sister has told me and well trains are just as bad now. people wont stop driveing, it will never happen, driveing is a natural thing of life now and its never going stop untill they invent a teliport or something that can travel for free
