ok, im on the hunt for an si and hopefully getting one within the month(providing i sell my 2 cars!) am gonna go for a 3 door preferably ash black but java blue if a black one doesnt come up..heres my questions if u wouldnt mind answering!:
first of all most of the questions are basically prices of how much stuff is gonna cost me,
1. how much roughly for a cossie bib+fitting and sprayin and is it worth doing myself?
2. i think im gonna go for rs2000 skirts and xr2i arches, how much roughly also how much roughly for fitting+sprayin..
3.smoked rear lights price?
4.is it worth gettin recaro seats-100 quids from my brother?
5.will it fail mot if i put a steering wheel without an airbag in?
6.which is best spoiler? i know mondeo ones are quite popular but maybe something different?+price please?
7.if i get -35mm lowering springs should i deffo go for dampeners aswel? +priced for both please
8. just out of interest what have you raced in your si and lost/won?

1. cossie bib second hand - 55 - 70, new - 97 off xfactor defo do it yourself, every one on here can advise you if you get stuck



4. recaro seats, i would say yes but read my post in one of the other forums about the seats, most seem to say if your going to go recaro, get the rear bench and doorcards aswell

5. i think this depends on wether the airbag warning light is on or not

7. ive just got 35mm springs and the ride is harsh as fook, ive been told dampers can smooth it out a little. ?203 for kit or about 40 for springs (xfactor)

fitting is supposed to be a little tricky, basically to make it sit right. spraying costs varies where you go to, ill throw a figure of about ?50-70 or something for spraying.

flat them yourself and take your time. prep work is the most time consuming with crap like this. if you spray them at the same time as your bib then your overall cost should be lowered. not sure on the exact prices, obviously, but the paint supplier prob will supply you with 1litres of paint which i would hazzard would just about do. then you'll need primer and laquer. (i paid ?60 p/litre for my laquer!) but it wont be that bad.

egay ?60-80. new ?120 or something.

depends if you want them or not i have frst recaros in my car and they're lush. i paid that figure for fronts and rear bench and theni had to buy some matching doorcards from a XR2i 16v/RS1800. fitting guide in the 'guides' section

no, should pass without issues. but from a personal stance, if i crashed and died due to smashing my head on the wheel, id very much like it there
as long as the airbag light isnt on when it goes for MOT then it'll be ok. also dont forget to tell your insurers its now gone.

depends what look you're after. i've got a colour coded frst spoiler on mine and sets it off very nicely, but you want something different. im not much of a styling man i do engines

Gmax ?220 mark : Spax ?280 : Springs ?70-80.
if you want it to look cooler, go springs - if you want it to ride better, corner faster, stop better and generally kick arse then id go for a full matched damper and spring set up. i've got spax fast road stuff on mine and its the shizzle.

8. just out of interest what have you raced in your si and lost/won?

i race everyone and lose everytime vtr's are a match, depends if you can drive properly or not. went out with spoon the other week in his zetec-s and proved him that my Si isnt shy. not a lot in it. always wondered how it would fair against an XR2i

yea steering wheel is nice to have an airbag....but would like a nice look...have thought about that q a bit tho tbh

In reference to suspension, I'd deffinately go for a full kit its worth splashing out abit more, cause you'll only end up uprating the shocks in time.

I've got Gmax full kit on me Si for around ?200. i can't compare them to any other than the std ones but they impoved responce handling braking etc greatly, and the rides not stupidly hard.
