I was looking into getting bigger brakes for my Mk4, due to wanting a 1.7 puma engine in at the time as well.

I decided against the engine in the end, and once some new discs were on it was fine. Standard is fine unless you have a 2.0, then maybe uprate the discs and pads.

RST/Mk5 Zs brakes! Cheap is good. No need to spend money on cossie shizzle! Unless you can get the for a good price.

That's IMO though. your choice and money!

I can't believe that most comments are saying looks are more important than yours and others lives. If you have a 2 litre engine in there you need to be able to stop the fooker before you look good in it. I just hope that i am in my artic if ever we meet on the road and i know i could stop but wouldn't feel a thing if you hit me because you couldn't stop.

When modding like that you do the brakes first, suspension second, then after all that then the engine. Not engine, suspension then if i have enough money then the brakes.

All i can say is you must be a suicide jockey and i hope i don't meet you head on someday.

I fully agree with Des on this and those with the intelligence to think safety first over looks.

Your suspension will look mega low sat under 44 tonnes of truck cos you couldn't stop, but you will look ice cool sat on the side of the road cos you stopped in time because you fitted mega anchors !
