start by removing the throttle linkage and bracket from your si TB

now onto the mondeo TB

start by removing the TPS

remove the bracket and the throttle linkage

Image

now for some modifying :)

the white part of the si linkage wont fit onto the link arm on the mondeo TB as the diameter is too small and needs to be widened, i used a dremel

Image

Image

now for some filing/grinding as the butterfly wont fully open without this

the pic below is without the filing

Image

you can clearly see the part restricting the linkage from fully opening (pic below)

Image

after the filing

Image

then re-assembly the throttlebody linkage the same way you removed it from the si

as for the throttle cable bracket, you need to file the part below,

Image

with the 2 parts filed it should look something like this

Image

the si throttle cable bracket can now be fitted, i modded mine in order to get a better neater fit

from this

too this

and finally, the reassemble TB

PLEASE NOTE: i dont claim this is the correct way (or best way) to do this, its just the way i did it taking pics along the way :)

PS i also know my TB needs a good clean

Is this just so the 2.0 TB will fit a SI inlet? I have a 2.0 TB and a HO RS1800 inlet it's going to go on a 2.0 silver top lump, but would I still need to modify the 2.0 TB or will it all go on and the SI throttle cable work fine? Any help would be great!

if you havent got an rs1800 throttle body you'll still need to modify the 2.0 tb and fit the 1.6si linkage so it can use the si throttle cable, this applies for the 1.6/1.8 ally inlets

Thanks onslack, well I've done it following the guide, tried the 2.0 throttle body and it just gets caught on fuel/injector parts. Thanks for you help and advice. Good thread!
