I had a mk2 957cc Fiesta as my first car. Cheap to buy, cheap to run and maintain and cheap to insure, I think it was something like ?600 TPFT and that was with my provisional licence for the first 2 and a half months (this was 8 years ago)!
Having driven that for a year I bought an Orion 1.6i Ghia, got fed up with replacing gearboxes and clutches on the thing and sold it to buy a lovely J plate XR2i with the optional Recaro's. Loved that car to bits then sold it to help fund University the next year, so I drove the family runaround mk2 1.4S for a while!
2nd year at Uni I got given the white mk3 1.1 (aka plopper) and used and abused that for a year or so then bought a Mercury Grey XR2i when I started working full time. I soon got bored with the '2i though and it's poor fuel economy so bought a Ford Focus. I was so impressed with the car, especially doing the 83mile (each way) journey to work every day, so I was really peed off when some knob pulled out in front of me leaving me nowhere to go but into the side of him!
As luck would have it I was changing contracts to a new role working in central London commutable by train so I decided to keep the banger Escort I had bought for ?150 and use that to commute to the station and use the insurance money from the Focus to buy the car I'd always wanted, a FRST
I would like to say that its been fun owning the FRST but the last year and a quarter has been a total nightmare, with money being ploughed in and progress being extremely slow, but the final stages of the Turbo are now in place and the car should be road-ready in the next few days, so I'm a very very happy bunny at last!
You don't choose a Fiesta, it's a lifestyle!

P.S. Forgot to add - the white 1.1 was given to me by my brother when the Escort 1.6 LX banger car decided to die on the day I was moving house!
So it got another year and a half of service with me behind the wheel and worked absolutely faultlessly, except for the new clutch (I suppose that was my fault though really!
). Sadly it was put to rest a couple of weeks ago and will be really sorely missed for the great reliable car it was (6 years of service amongst my family!).

Thing is my rents don't want it sat on the driveway and i can't afford to get it fixed so i can drive it. Argh! Im gonna hafta seriously think about this for a bit because i dont wanna sell her, i wanna do her up! *puts on thinkiing cap*
