Been thinking alot today about maybe getting rid of the fes. I really do like it but sometimes its too impractical and the feeling it will constantly need repairs. Ive put it away now for the winter so cant use it for the next 4-6 months. Maybe i would be better with a TDI that looks good, gets good MPG and can use all year round. I already have a 2nd car but just seems abit much having a 2nd car to cover when the fes is in hibernation or being repaired. 2 cars = more space, insurance, tax, mot, petrol X2 ![]() Whats your honest opinions ? |

I concur. Sadly not with the derv bit, get something that goes well, looks good and is something you really want. Diesels are highly uninspiring to drive and you'll miss the Fiesta even more with one dull, DULL option. I'd say something like a Puma Racing would be up your alley as it's got the looks, the parts aren't massive money, it's not really economical, what Zetec is, but it's more of a package. |

OPTION 1 The VW will mean getting rid of the Micra & the Fes cause of the £20+K price tag OPTION 2 Get the Leon TDI, get rid of the Micra and keep the Fes. Leon will cost about £7k but nowhere near as nice as the VW, but i get to keep 2 cars. |

Nah mate, you deffo should keep the fez, she is such a nice car and you have put so much time and money into her. You would deffo regret selling her. The best bet would be to replace the micra with something a bit more up to the job and keep the fez for special occasions. When my si is off the road, I claim the money back off the tax disc which helps alot and obviously there isnt the fuel cost or insurance for two cars then either. If I was you, instead of having both cars on the road all the time, have the si as your full time car over the summer and a better second car as your full time car over the winter so at any one time you only have the cost of one car on the road. ![]() |

Good choice. I hate the sound of deisels, but it will be practical as for getting rid of the fez, you would have regretted that, save getting rid of it for about 3 years and I'll have it off you ![]() seriously though, time effort money, on a car that you love, just to get rid of it so quickly? You'll never make your money back on everything you've bought, and you'd just have an empty space, you'd really want it back. |

Diesels are better than most petrols IMO Its only the older diesels which are poop. They sound different, but the torque and economy you have from them is awesome ![]() And with a turbo and straight through pipe, they sound awesome... no smoke no poke ![]() |

Ever heard a 5 pot diesel? Strange they actually sound a bit like the petrol ![]() My 1.4 tdci isnt as bad as i thought it was gonna be, the poke (torque) you get from diesels is the most fun part IMO Ask the southern crew in convoy for sixfields, they were surprised how quick my 1.4 diesel fiesta was on the motorway cause of the torque y0! ![]() |

Them 1.4's arent too bad, not much there like but the torque from the turbo does give it abit of bollocks ![]() I drove a 2.0HDI pug van the otherday... and that suprised me, the torque was awesome! |

I'd have a tuned VAG as a daily but if it was only car I'd cry oily tears every night. I'd long for 7500rpm and some sexual induction noise. The torque wave gets boring after a while, especially as it eats into your economy. ![]() |

He was on about having the Golf diesel as his only car, thats all i was referring to. He'd be OK with the Si and the Leon I guess. |
