Well hearing she had bought a 205 gti I was slightly worried as my sisters know nothing about cars tbh and Is usually attracted to bags of nails.

I went to see the 205 she had purchased and to be honest….. I loved it haha…. It cost her ..get this…£750!!!!

I dunno LOADS AND LOADS…. So at this point im quite impressed.

Went on a drive….. Goes very well….. Just slower than the 2.0 si… up to about 6000rpm then the short pause before
Rocketing to 8500rpm… ITS MAD for a 1.6…. Will easily eat my 2.0
Handles like a beast and just sounds amazing.

This is with the standard management and he had an aftermarket one which he borrowed and with that on…
It would EASILY dust off 2.0mi16 ones.. It FLEW.

Not happy cuz now she has a faster car and it was cheaper…it older but ….sorta better looking… she wont drive it like that though I know.

oi you... shhhhh haha.... its a 1.6 though ... and im not keeing my 2.0 that much longer.. my mates offered me a 106 gti on throttle bodies producing 185bhp....so might be ttempted to the dark side

I've not been in a 205 actually. A friend had one but it was broken more often than not so I never got a ride His 16v S1 106 kept him happy though. The 1.9 GTi is supposed to be the pinnacle of hot hatches of that generation.

The general consensus is first gen 1.9 206 GTI > second gen Clio Williams > third gen Honda ITR > fourth gen ? Renault R26.R?

I always said I'd own a 205 GTi at some point. Seems around the best time to buy with prices being lower and it become a contemporary classic.
