Well, the bmw has now been sold but I cannot afford to get a gti anymore (unless i get a cut and shut for £900 lol) So I basically have to buy a car and inure it for £1800 So car has to be £1000 or less really as insurance is £700 ish on most hot hatches. So far I'm thinking 205 gti 1.9 (but put a 1.6 gearbox on it) or clio 1.8 16v Any ideas friends? ![]() Ta Emlyn |

you've just mentioned two good cars there. Ax GT too. ![]() seriously when you're on that kind of budget it's going to be tough to find a great example of any hot hatch. Maybe bite the bullet and go for a runaround whilst you save up some money? |

Yeah I'm not really fussed if it's a great example paintwise aslong as it's solid, may even buy something that needs a bit of work done, but aslong as it's not rusty ofcourse. I did think about just getting a runaround but with buying it and insurance I will have spent most of the budget anyway. hmmm I don't know now, really fancy a 205 for some reason ![]() Emlyn |

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/593132.htm Something like that interests you then? Surely though if you get a cheaper car to run and insure, you can save up more money in the meantime for something better? Remember performance cars will drop and drop in price because of fuel costs IMO. no matter what anyone says you will do what you want, so just make sure you take your time in deciding. (and keep saving) |

Yeah, that is the sort of thing I'm looking for really, Yeah I will be saving whichever car I get so that I can go up a class this time next year, I'm planning on doing an lpg coversion on whichever next car I get I think as fuel is a real downer at the moment. Cheers Emlyn |
