anyone have any experiance with one of these? didnt realise they were such a low insurance group (5) or 4 for the xn but now im thinking about getting one as first car. as some of you know im not really rich, so insurance prices mean a lot to me. plus points being i like the look of these, they dont look to expensive, and insurance. only worry i have is that i will be wanting to tune it when i am a bit older, as i dont want to be swapping cars every few months or so. are these tuneable at all? thanks in advance for all the advice guys

Try and get a decent one. Moe's needed a new engine when he bought his. handles alright for a deisel though supposedly. It won't be as good as a hdi though, but cheaper to tune.

i have registered, but it wont let me read anything? i dont mind too much about handling, as that can be sorted (coilovers, decent tyres etc) but just wanna hear some of you guys' experiances with them. cheers

i liked my one, they aint fast but aint slow by any means! 3 up with all snowboarded up we pissed over a 318!!!! dirty chavs where shocked as duck!!! thinking they where having us untill i came on to boosted!!! i would say get one! just dont take on a vw t5 u will lose!!!! trust

they handle well, good on fuel when u dont hav ur foot flat!, and if u wanna play u can easy turn up boost

i've seen a few d-turbo's (and hdi's especially) that eat gti-6's on straights.

it's just not as funny as a revvy petrol no matter what anyone says imo.

just obviously be careful when buying and give it a good look over!

when i went to get mine, after the fiesta got nicked, my mechanic mate checked it all over, and the temp gauge wasn't working and assumed it was fine, changed the temp sender, and 3 weeks later the head gasket went!

while it was on the road, easy 50mpg and a nice car to drive

they do so many D engines when i was looking for mine( moe made me go for one!!!) the Dturbo is the one to have tho! i would say its one of the only french cars i would hav, other being a S2 rallye!!! and well that its a big thing, dont do french normaly!!!!

The 306 TD's seem to be good

Can tune boost and fuel pump up, my mates went pretty well and still did good mpg

I used to have a straight D 306 way before I got a fiesta, only had it a few weeks due to engine problems (dodgy mechanic), but before it went tits up it was a good car to drive, wouldnt break any records but was cheap to run, and was fairly quicker than a 1.1 thing
