ph1 have better potential modding as the supercharger is still being worked on for the 197/200 and until it's right it wont be released (can you tell I want one)
when it's released I think the gains will be similar to that of the fiesta ST when it has a charger on that. max is probably 260 as the standard engine can't handle much more then that without uprated cams tbs etc.
as someone found out when it killed their engine after 10 miles (same thing that happened to an ST)

NA engines seem to be harder to mod then those with turbo already in them (corsa vxr - after reading how many if those havehad engines replaced under warrenty I won't be touching one)

in the last 3 days in this car I caught air in sixfields on the approach to the roundabout by the pub and having fun with an orange focus ST today took a corner at 60mph (lots of nsl country roads by me) first time on 3 wheels massively impressed with this car and corners like a train. not things I'd have tried in the si. I've been prigressivly testing how quick the Clio corners.

it's handling what I throw at it brilliantly and I've yet to scare myself out of spirited driving of it.

got my exhaust trims to go on this weekend also blackened the front grills and rear diffuser and all bulbs (overhead, doors) are niw blue with White ones in glovebox and boot pictures to follow.

Ok just a quick picture update.
Not much done just put the exhaust trims on and its got a new smaller aerial. So thought I'd grab a few (any excuse)









and you may notice that hello kitty in the rear window has come from the fiesta over onto the clio. Its been in every daily driver I've had since my dad brought it for my very first car so tradition keeps going (its pretty intact for 4-5 years old)

Looking excellent, these are the best looking Clio made to date IMO. I wouldn't shy away from one in the future if the mood struck.. Good work!

I think the only downside is modding them. a 197/200 is always going to be a similar speed give or take 30bhp.
some of the older clios are terrors. 300bhp+ hidden in some 172s and a few 182s sitting at 260+

it's the meganes that are really crazy a lot if them now sit in focus RS territory with remaps. although they are turbos and they are always easier to modify.


my favourite is the dimma Clio cosworth (a cosworth engine in a Clio)

To make a Clio faster point to point, I'd just reduce weight and focus on making it faster in the corners!

one of the dimmas is currently being restored to it's original look. I'm surprised they have managed to locate the few they have.

I think the whole point of the clio is the handling. to bulk up the bhp like some people have you lose your handling.

ive been a busy bee with this and have squirreled away a few mods to increase drivability (and torque and bhp ) They need to go on before the remap so that can make full use of them. Only my partner knows what I've got :p

I've also been doing some mods to the interior that I have shown, pictures to come soon.
whole stereo system has been overhauled.
Fuel consumption is brilliant this month. 200 miles and half a tank left still

Sound system is dire in these Clio's so upgraded all the components pioneer TSE130Ci co ax in the front running off the amp in the back. Pioneer renault fits in the rear and my sub I brought from ford fair last year. Alpine HUSpeakers/headunit
