OK fitted the drivers side tonight, and doing the passenegr side in the morning.

Opted for 348 x 30mm EBC Turbo groved in the end just due to availability and some pagid pads.

The pics really dont show how big these things are. Ill get some daytime shots tomorrow next to a coke can to put it in to perspective

The calipers and discs are massive

330d pads vs 335d pads

330d discs vs 335d discs

330d caliper vs 335d caliper

While all the wheels were off when i was doing the brakes, i noticed that one of my alloys has a crack on the inside lip, seeking a replacment alloy was proving difficult so picked up and fitted and new set of rims. Not sure iam totally 100% with them yet, but time will tell. Got some staggered 19" OEMS IGF9, 8.5J front, 9.5J rear.

still going strong and just clocked up over 146k now.

Failed MOT a few weeks back for a leaky rear shock. 2 new Sachs rear shocks, £145 and 2 hours later, passed MOT. Apart from that hasn't needed anything since ive had it apart from tyres and regular service items.

I look after it but it does take some punishment.

Same maintenance jobs i need to do:
New battery (old one goes flat after 2 days of no use)
Air con stopped working, maybe pumps given up
Replace DPF (Going to bypass DPF and have it coded out)
Tracking
Brake fluid change

Planning on keeping this until about the end of 2017 when its 10 years old and at around 200k mileage. Then going to opt for either a newer 335D or 435D Xdrive. Even if its auto the MPG and performance is too good to ignore.

Future plans for this one have come down as the mileage is getting high and only plan on keeping it another 2 years or so but there are some things I still wanted to complete.

WISH LIST
• Dummy DPF (hollowed)
• Wagner Tuning EVO intercooler - £475
• NV Motorsport ODB Stop Lock - £90
• Genuine BMW Individual Ltd Edition Stop\Start Button (61317973477) - £60
• Genuine BMW LCI Xeon Angel Eye Headlight Conversion - £600
• Retrofit Split Folding Rear Seats
• Retrofit LCI CIC iDrive HD 8.8" widescreen sat-nav and coding - £600
• Retrofit Harman Kardon Logic 7 Sound System (13 Speaker System) - £600
• Full USB iPod\iPhone control for video & Audio
• Free view TV Tuner - £200
• Reverse Camera

Had some work done over last few weeks.

New Bosch battery fitted and coded, brake fluid change and had the CAT cleaned out and the DPF removed, gutted, re-welded and coded out. For MOT purposes still looks OEM.

Car sounds and moves much better without DPF, even brake fluid change has improved the braking loads. Must of had air locks or moisture in the brake system from when i changed the front calipers to the bigger 335D ones.

Overall, very happy. Next up will be the plug and play uprated Wagner Intercooler i think.

Still got a emissions error coming up on the idrive and EML on dash......cars driving perfect though.

Seems the error can be linked to the EGR valve, so thought id take it off and clean it anyway.

Bonnet open.............the EGR sits under the engine cover

Cover off.........EGR is located bottom right near the alternator

Removed the jupilee/hose clip, pulled off vac pipe from EGR, released Anti shudder sensor, removed the 4 allen\hex bolts from EGR, release the boost intake pipe and the EGR comes out.

Pretty sooty in the EGR and the inlet.

I seperated the EGR and Anti-shudder valve to make it easier to clean inside. Just needed to remove 3 star bolts. Scrapped off what i could with a flat head screwdriver and some contact cleaner. Got the drimmel out and sanded and polished it a little then flushed it out so it was clean of debris.

Refitted and put all back together.

Started engine and light was still on but may need error resetting or a little drive might clear the error. Will post an update if it goes out. Either way cant hurt to give the EGR a clean. Tempted to get a EGR delete kit and code the EGR out all together.

Was having starting issues. Starter motor seemed dead so replaced with a new Bosch one. Car then cranked but still wouldnt start.

After ordering and waiting for Carly Wi-Fi adpater to come i got the Carly app for IOS on the ipad and scanned for codes. Found the code EWS MANIPULATION 004A63.

Basically its immobilized and the car is rejecting both keys. thats why the injector rail has low pressure and will crank but wont fire.

Grabbed a laptop and installed INPA along with a USB DCAN cable and realigned the EWS and CAS. Car now starts fine.

Also fitted 5 new Beru Glowplugs and a genuine BMW preheater\glowplug module. Also cleaned and re-oiled the k&N filter, cleaned the MAF and Map sensors out. and fitted new fuel filter.

Another little problem fixed.

I was getting error code of Roof: A670

Image

Turns out its the condensation sensor that sits inside the interior mirror casing next to the rain sensor. In my case the sensor was just hanging. According to all resources online these are a one time use so once they come unstuck from the glass they cannot be reused.

Image

Now normally i like to stick with genuine BMW parts are atleast quailty OEM parts......but not in this case. BMW wanted £120 for this stupid little sensor. Basically it detects when your windscreen starts to steam up and then diverts your running air in the car to the windscreen to clear it for you without you having to do anything. Something i didnt want to pay £120 for.
Got it from here

Picked up a cheap copy on ebay for £13. Looks similar to the original and comes with a placement guide. Aparently these sensors have to be stuck in a certain place, you cant just stick it anywhere.
Got it from here

Image

Used the spacer guide and stuck the sensor down. Cleared the fault in Carly and rescanned for faults. Normally this A670 error code would come straight back but not this time. Looks like the cheap sensor has done the job.

I'm good thanks how are you? Puma is doing me well at the moment!

There is a sixfields meet in memory of Jam in October ;)

Glad the sensor was fixed without paying £120 for it! What a pisstake

Collected a full E90 M3 Black leather interior with the split folding rear seats

They are pretty much in good condition just very poorly put in storage......dusty with storage marks. I can get storage marks out the leather with a heat gun on low settings and iron out the

creases. last pics show the one seat cleaned with leather cleaner and conditioner so you can see the difference.

Pics of the E90 M3 Power, Memory and heated seats fitted and coded

Not as flashy as the Cobra Misano's but more comfy for longer journeys and with some many adjustments on the M3 seats i can find a better seating position.

Need to source a pair of these seat backs with storage nets as the M3 front seats dont have them, but my original M Sport seats did.

Next job is to gather the parts to retrofit the split folding rear seats
